Here is the point where you leave the road to this beautiful spot at a river. When you come down and turn right you can drive till the end. Even at a weekend in peak season there were only a few friendly local families who made their picnic on the other side of the river. In the evening they were all gone. Completely quite at night. No trash around. You can swim in the clear water of the river. It is really refreshing. One of the most beautiful and cleanest spots we had so far in Turkey! 3G to 4G signal with turkcell. Only 4x4
Edit: The mornings we left a local told us that they sometimes open the floodgates from the upper reservoir. So the problem could be that the way back is cut off because of water. Better ask somebody who is around or don't drive too far that you can return before the water gets to high.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Indeed nice place to camp. If you come down, you can see a warning system for flooding. So don’t be afraid of the water, just enjoy it. Down the road you meet the “normal” Turkish garbage belt. Drive up along the river and it’s rather “clean” again. Our Unimog got down easily, so if you have a big rig, you could try it too.
Report Check-InReally beautiful place. The road I think would be pretty rough even for a 4x4 but I managed to drag my bike back up in the morning. Tent campers beware of super hard and sharp burrs that grow all over the banks of the river -- they penetrated my footprint and tent floor in some cases! Was glad I had a foam mattress and not an inflatable one that night..
Report Check-InParking by the Roman bridge, beautiful location. 4x4 can go on the top platform, others a bit lower by the river.
