Surprisingly good road all the way to Boca de la Sierra, from there the last few km on a bumby dirt road, manageable with a 2wd, there is a river crossings (quite low on our visit). At the end of the road there is a parking area (clearing), not many level spots but a few places you can make work. The swimming holes are a short trail away down the hill.
We arrived, and at the entrance of the site it said „Prohibido el paso. Propriedad privada.“ Turned around.
Report Check-InWater is pretty low but swimming still possible above the dam 500 meters
Report Check-Inlittle bumby dirt road. but a nice and quiet place with firepits.. and for the day a beautiful river with swimming pools and jumbing spots.. lovely place..
Report Check-InDusty parking lot near lovely river. A couple of fire pits, no other amenities. The road until the little village „Boca de la Sierra“ nearby is paved and in the center is a turnoff to the bio reserve, just ask the locals for the „camina to rio“ :-) About 2-3 km dirt road with a couple bumps and some steeper section and a river crossing (no water when we visited), wouldn’t do it with rigs over 20 feet or normal RVs
We were the only ones sleeping there, a couple of locals visiting during the day. The river is beautiful with little pools to swimm in and in the evening you get a frog concert for free :-)
Alright spot. Free. Quite. Nice little river. Road is good. Would recommend if you want something simple and free!
