Nice large and flat area in a dispersed camping area. Currently has established rock fire ring. Be sure check if there are fire restrictions. About half way between Laramie and Cheyenne off Happy Jack Road. Nearest potable water at the Lincoln Memorial rest stop off I-80.

Lovely spot! Other rigs and tents in sight, but the forest is large and there are lots of level spots with fire pits on the side roads. Road is unpaved. The main road was fine in my 2WD CRV, and we did the side roads fine in dry weather although they were tougher. I would’ve skipped most of the roads if they were wet, however.
Report Check-InGorgeous views, but within four hours the mice found their way inside of our van! We have never had this happen before and while we were on our midnight mice destroying mission we saw at least 50 more outside. We left in the middle of the night with two new uninvited guests.

Report Check-InTons of dispersed camping options along forest service roads off of Happy Jack Road. Most forest roads allow dispersed camping anywhere within 100 feet of the road. The exception to this is FSR 700, which has designated camping spots. We camped at the end of FSR 712G, which had nice views and was private. Some Verizon and T-Mobile reception, both were made usable with a booster. Sites closer to I-80 likely have better reception.
