Colombia
This new attraction outside of Gigante with a beautiful view of the city. $10kCOP pp to enter and you pay at the bottom of the hill. You can drive or walk up. We drove up in a 2wd sprinter van without any issues. Once you’re up there you can park and stay for the night. We stayed for two nights, no extra charge. There’s a delicious coffee bar and you can order meals at the restaurant or they can order from town for delivery.
They are still building and are going to have lots of amenities for retreats (pool, cabanas, camping, etc). The workers and staff are incredibly kind and interested in stories of travels, and offer suggestions too!
Right now they have toilets, cold showers, and slow WiFi.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
The entrance is now 15k COP per person. Its not allowed to drive all the way up anymore, you either have to take the steep 30 minutes walk or the shuttle they offer. They allowed us to overnight kn the car near their house near the ticket office (more secure they said) and we could use the baños for free.
Report Check-InWe spent the night in the parking lot near the ticket office.
First day The staff was very friendly, they helped to park and allowed me to use wifi and connect to power.
They have bathrooms and shower.
The second day they asked us to move to another unguarded parking lot… we were unhappy but we moved.
Report Check-InThis is the location of the parking lot. it is a 30 minute hike to the hand fro. here.
Report Check-Inhaving paid 10.000cop pp at the base we made it up to the mano with our 2x4 sprinter camper van (automatic) and stayed there several days than for free. the way up is really steep. on top there is the mano, a dream catcher and a swing under an artificial rainbow. small restaurant/bar, baños, potable water, wifi. just talk to the owner and workers and they help you.
Report Check-InThis is a good place to have a cooler night than near the road 45. Because it rained a lot before we arrived, we preferred to sleep at the parking at the entrance (wcs, cold shower available). The part after the entrance is steep, can be muddy and challenging for you brakes, but not impossible.
Report Check-Inworth a stop I'd say. the 10k gets you a voucher than can be used for a drink/brownie/whatever you fancy
