Description

Close spot to Yuma for when you need a good overnight. We’ve been here 4 times over the past 4 months when needing to handle errands in town on the way to somewhere else. Camp host is friendly and there is usually plenty of room. Good 5G signal

Latest Check-Ins

Dry camping “lot” construction currently underway on the neighboring highway and a freight train line on the other side of that. Adequate for an overnight or two.

Report Check-In

Nice spot but very crowded. If you like trains you’ll love this spot. Lots of train traffic. Other than the trains very quiet for the amount of people here. 2 bars Verizon 5G.

Report Check-In

We stayed 5 nights so we could visit friends in Yuma and Imperial Dam and do some RV maintenance. We snagged a more private spot towards the back - north end. Trains go by across the highway constantly, but aren’t loud and squealing. It’s a convenient location rather than a scenic/quiet place. Starlink works well easy access any size RV.

Report Check-In

It's not closed. There are 40-50 rigs camping here.

Report Check-In

I wasn't able to find this place.

Report Check-In

Great spot! Wide open and quite. My first time in a place like this and thought I was driving onto a scene from Independence Day! But seriously, place is quite, people are friendly/keep to themselves. No camp host so drive up, pick your spot, and have a nice base camp.

Report Check-In

Tons of rigs here, as expected. Easier to get to than Fortuna Pond and surprisingly quiet at night despite the road and train proximity. Found a cozy spot in the bushes in the back.

Report Check-In

As others have described. This time of year it's pretty popular though.

Report Check-In

As described, mostly a large dirt lot, people pretty organized in rows, some bushes around to give separation. Road seems quite enough, trains will be close when they come.

Report Check-In

Lots of campers in this spot. Level spots all over, you just find an empty one and pull in. Right off 95, you can’t miss it. Sign says 14 day camping allowed. Very quiet at the back where I am.

Nice BLM 14 day. next to the VFW. Friendly place

Report Check-In

Good spacing among desert scrub . Typical Arizona BLM ,easy in & out

Report Check-In

Great boondocking spot, just north of Yuma.
Camp host? What camp host?

Report Check-In

Good spot to dry camp for free (old signage asking you to check in) if you need to do admin in Yuma. Try going to the trees at the very back area. Surprisingly quiet, minus the trains but not too bad. Stayed here for a few nights and it was fine!

Report Check-In

As described, free, no host any more although the signs are still there. Trains 4-5 times a night. Close to city. Look for the armored tank to find the place.

Report Check-In

Excellent camping location. We stayed back in the trees and it was very secluded. There is a little train noise from time to time and after dark I believe the military does some flying however it concludes by 9 or 10.

Report Check-In

Trains, planes and cars!!! All forms of transportation are here to make it noisy at all times. It’s a lot next to the local VFW lodge and it’s ok for one night if you are noise sensitive. Otherwise you can stay up to
14days. On the positive note the place is FREE!

Report Check-In

Fine for a one night stay on your way to something else. Loud due to it's proximity to the highway, train tracks, and military base. No amenities, not even a trash can. We stayed here due to flash flooding in the surrounding BLM spots.

Report Check-In

Quiet easy drive to shopping, Starbucks within 10 minutes

Report Check-In

Lots of rigs here. They are pretty packed in but it is possible to find a site with a little more room in the back (away from the highway) near the trees. It was pretty quiet over night where we were although there is highway noise and train tracks close by. In the morning there were a few generators running.

Super easy to get to.

Report Check-In

Nice place to dry camp close to Yuma. Feels enclosed. Great phone service here.
