Great plateau at about 2900 m altitude. Awesome 360 view of the surrounding mountains, put toilets available few nice areas. No sign of fees. Drive past the Montezuma hot springs from Las Vegas and then take FR 65 and stick left towards gallina canyon. Road is accessible even by sedan.

Road was open 7/24/21. Nice views. Weekend and only one other camper. It rained every day, even a hail storm. Used a high cleaning two wheel drive van.
Report Check-InThe road here is closed right after you enter public land and turn left as of March 3, 2021. There is a gate blocking entrance as well as a road closed sign.
Report Check-InYes yes yes! What a spot! stayed at a pull off before reaching the spots with fire rings because of snow. Quite and the view was spectacular.
Report Check-InBeautiful drive and incredible views - I bet this place gets busy in the summer. We had Thanksgiving all to ourselves up here, and had an incredible time. Great AT&T & Verizon service, drive up in our 24’ Class C no problems. The wind up here is no joke, and it got cold at night. Loved our visit here!
Report Check-InSpent two chilly nights here. While the mountains are stunning it's hard to find a camp spot without trees blocking the view. Several spots have actual fire pits and picnic tables. Pit toilet currently closed due to Covid-19. It can get very windy up here so not sure how comfortable tent camping would be. I also don't think you can get all the way to the pin w/o 4WD. No cell service on ATT. Best price around... Free.
