Description

We had a wonderful time here- Freddie & Susan were great hosts. We came with a group of 4 caravans (18 ppl) and were pretty much the only campers here. Susan booked us the 4 newest campsites with private ablutions and a barracca each. The vibe is great and we spent a day on Freddie’s boat: snorkelling, swimming, looking for pansy shells- it was the highlight of our trip!! Covid has had a huge impact on Mozambique and we are grateful White Sands survived. There are plans to update the remaining campsites- so that will be great. We love the vibe here…

Latest Check-Ins

Freddie and Suzanne are very welcoming.
We enjoyed good food at the restaurant.
The sea is a bit of a trek but well worth the walk.
Made good use of the pool.
Our campsite had its own rustic ablution facilities. We had a shaded Lapa which is essential to get away from the hot sun.
We enjoyed our three days here.
Well worth visiting .

Camp site with special view from restaurant area and pool (super clean) on ocean and boats. Very friendly staff. Possible for big rigs.

Nice campsite. We paid 400Rands per night for 2 adults + 2 kids for privatif campsite (ablutions, electricity + lapa for the Shade). No shade at all on the normal campsites.
Very nice place, lagoon one side and ocean other side, super clean swimming pool and very nice bar/restaurant. Don't know the prices, we didn't use it.
But very noisy! were in lawseason and they were preparing for middle december, so they madea lot of works from 7.00 to 16.00.
The owner is south African, kind lady and very kind employees.

We spent a very relaxing 4 nights. Delicious food and fantastic views. Tofo a short drive away.

Report Check-In

Very good place to camp. Sea on one side and lagoon on the other. White sand, restaurant and bar, sparkling pool. Power points at sights. Tides affect access to the camp.

Report Check-In

There are 2 different kind of campsites there : most are facing the lagoon and sunset and are near the access track, barracas but no electricity, no water, run down common ablutions and area covered with dead palm leaves and bricks (400Mzn). 5 private spot are at the back of the property, with clean private ablution, electricity and barraca, just behind the dune to the beach with partial view to the sea (a few hundred meters away), those are more expensive (but prices given by the manager and later the owner - 200R pp - were different) and need to be prebooked to avoid surprises.
In fact, we spent the 1st night on a spot facing the lagoon. We were going to leave but a school group had left and the manager told us we could move to a spot with private ablution. A group of 4 cars was coming but 1 spot was remaining free. A few hours after we had set up camp, the owner arrived on her quad, and without even a hello asked if we were ''part of the group''. We were not. She then sent a staff member to tell us to move immediately to make space for ''the arriving group''. We asked that she come herself to explain to us the situation and maybe find a solution. She came back on her quad and aggressively told us to move our camp to make place for her clients who had booked this exact spot, and that the price was higher than what we had been told. We reminded her that the manager had checked with her before allowing us to settle here 4 hours earlier. She asked if we wanted him to be fired. We packed up and left, totally shoked by her attitude. So, we advise to have a confirmed booking before staying there. Apart this bad experience with the owner, the staff is very friendly and the palm trees give a nice atmosphere to the place. The next door campsite Barra dica is still under reconstruction, but the owner is very friendly and accomodating, offering chalet less expensive (150R) than the private campsites. Be aware of biting palm flies in the area.

Report Check-In

Ablution is very bad. Do not go here but stay at the neighbours called Duna Brance (was once one company, not anymore now).
