A part of Cape Nature reserves, Bird Island is highly recommended to visit when in Lamberts Bay especially during the breeding season of the Cape Gennet between October and March. No charge for SANPark Wildcard holders. Nice walkways with interesting information display boards explaining the history and landmarks of the island. Some facilities are a bit tired, yet the brilliantly located bird hide is appropriately weathered based on the harshness of the region in which it is found.

We liked the bird island and the bird hide, there were lots of gannets because it was breeding season when we were there. Also seal's and other birds. Enthusiastic guide explained more about the gannets and it's hilarious to see them land on the island! 50R p.p.

Report Check-In

Not really worth a visit. Some half finished exhibitions and a run down bird hide. They do not have any penguins. Right next to the industrial area. Cost 40 ZAR per Person.
