Description

Nature Valley NP, camping. Also rent out small huts.
A great campsite in the forest next to the river. Good, clean facilities. The sites are well shaded but will get muddy during wet weather. Kayaking on the river is highly recommended. You can hire a 2-person kayak for R97. Watch out for the baboons! They are a menace and will destroy your campsite if they smell food. Nearby Nature's Valley village has a small shop with basic supplies. See the SanParks website for prices and availability.

Latest Check-Ins

A beautiful campsite located in the forest on the banks of the river. The ablutions and facilities were very clean and well maintained. The sites are nicely shaded but it will get muddy during wet weather. There is abundant birdlife and we had a Cape Genet visit us in the evening. Beware of the baboons! They are an extreme menace here and will destroy your campsite if they smell food. They know how to open zips and clips. Keep all food in your vehicle or you will be sorry.
Be sure to rent a kayak for a paddle on the river, it costs R97 and is well worth it.

It was full on the San park website but they keep some spots for people like us without any booking. Very nice place and ablution. 403 Rand for two (high season price)

Report Check-In

Nice campsite in the forest close to the sea. You can start many walks here through amazing scenery of old trees. At night it is very quiet. There are baboons but they did not bother us. There is a nice spot at the river to chill as well.
Ablutions are very luxurious. We were almost the only visitors here.

It's was 260 in low season for a site but we also had to pay 250 in park fees so it adds up quickly... 510 for 2 people and one night is a steep price. Way too much for what you get, that's for sure. You better enjoy the hikes for that price !

Report Check-In

Great place to camp if you enjoy hiking, beautiful beach close by. Campsite are good and nestled in the forest so most are covered by a canopy of trees. Some sites have power others don't. Just be aware of the monkeys and baboons, make sure you don't leave any food around your campsite, you will be raided by them.

Report Check-In

San Parks Campground in the forest. Sites are big and well separated from each other. There is a lot of shade and it is a bit chilly in winter and without any view. Be aware of the Baboons. They opened out neighbours tent and stole food and left a mess. 120 ZAR p.P.

This place is in wrong location - it is located at -33.97062, 23.56308

Report Check-In

240,- Rand per site. Enough sites for trucks available. Several hiking trails starting at the campsite. Laundromats are totally crappy, worst so far at San Parks.

Report Check-In

As described before. Paid ZAR 220 for two people in one car for one night. Nicely located close to the river, you can rent canoes for ZAR 80 per hour. Ablutions are a little run down but clean. As said before - be aware of the baboons: they are not scared to come very close.

Report Check-In

Nice campsite in a beautiful surrounding. Great hikes, lovely sea.
413 Rand in total for 2 persons camping incl permit.
It was partly flooded when we arrived, but in the forest there is enough dry space.
Our camper got raid by a monkey, so close your windows and tent during the day. In the night they’re scared

Report Check-In

We visited in the winter months and the grassed arrivals area of the site was part flooded by high water levels in the nearby river. The camp sites themselves are largely under dense trees which would offer good shade in summer but make the sites very dark in winter. There is no 220V electricity at the sites which for a park of this calibre there should be. A problem of smelly toilets or the drainage system was obvious when we visited so much so we moved on without staying.

Report Check-In

Same as previous comment but ablutions in excellent condition!

Report Check-In

Beautiful site on the lagoon. Many pitches nestled in the forest. Quite crowded during the summer.
