Family run yurt factory, the daughter-in-law showed us around, she speaks some English and was really nice. It costs 300pp. We also talked to the “main man”, he was also very warm-hearted and showed us his photo albums and sang some songs. For bigger groups, they organize ‘master classes’ in carpet-making and yurt-building shows.
Report Check-InReally cool & informative presentation of the yurt art. The master invented a lot of machines himself! He also played his hand-made instruments and gave us a short tour for 200 som/person. He does not speak English well, it helps if you know some Russian. Nice souvenir shop.
Report Check-InVisited on Tuesday 2pm and nobody was there. I guess coming earlier in a day would help.
Report Check-InThere is no sign outside but the coordinates are correct. We loved the private concert and his photobooks about his yurts in USA and Germany.
Report Check-In200 KGS per person for a tour. Make sure you ask Mekenbek about his Komuz (= Kyrgyz string instrument). He might give you a private concert. He also gives workshops on making felt carpets and yurts, but we didn't do any of these.
