Latest Check-Ins

Well , all as described, but I will add semi trucks park toward the back and have engines running all night. So, this is good spot in a pinch (our case), but diesel fumes are pervasive.

Report Check-In

I was at this place and everything is the same.

as described. large lot. separate area for trucks, cars n rvs. beautiful over look of the river. met a gentleman that works here as he was walking up a car sleeper. handed him a preprinted piece of paper where he can go sleep. get something to eat. after that man left I asked about staying over night, n leaving early in the morning. he said "I can't say yes n I can't say no" n thanked me for telling him. as for the car person, apparently he's been up here multiple times already. I would say don't abuse it n keep the area clean. 2-3 Verizon bars. can hear the big trucks jake breaking on the highway occasionally, otherwise quiet.

Report Check-In

As described. Very clean. Highway Patrol office on site (building behind parking lot). Five camper vans, two cars, truck, and two semis here for the night.

Its gotta be the nicest rest area so far, by far. Very Safe. Fabulous views. I had to stay 2 nights due to a fall resulting in swollen blackeye yadda yadda. They are very flexible regarding length of stay as long as you're not

Report Check-In

Wonderful place to overnight. Had no issues. Quiet and safe. Large, level area, 24/7 bathrooms that are really clean and welcoming. Lots of tourist info. 2 bars cell service. Highly recommend!

quiet night, lots of space, no issues....

Report Check-In

Great spot calm clean and comfy Running water and informative

Report Check-In

There is a 4hr max stay per 24hr sign (10 hr commercial) upon entrance but it is not enforced, I’ve stayed here multiple times over the past month and there are always multiple other overnighters. This is a very safe feeling, quiet place to spend the night. Great views of Duluth, 24hr restrooms, vending machines, dog relief areas, picnic tables, garbage bins & recycling. There are a few parts of the lot where I get bad cell reception but the outer parts of the lot I get 2 bars (Verizon).

Report Check-In

Safe well lit area for overnight car camping. Clean restrooms.

Report Check-In

NO Parking allowed now. New Sign at entrance is very clear: “Parking Restrictions. All other vehicles 4 hours per 24 hour period” (Commercial is 10 hrs per 24 hrs.)
There is a state police post right here at the parking lot too…

Report Check-In

Clean restrooms 24/7, some vehicles in and out through the night, but well light and felt safe.

Report Check-In

Had a peaceful night here. Mostly quiet. A little traffic and train noise. A fee cars and RVs were present. All were adequately spaced out. Picnic areas and facility was well maintained.

Report Check-In

Quiet, except for a few idling semitrucks. Bright, flat, nice view of Duluth from the south edge of the lot.

Nice place to stay overnight. I’ve been coming here for years, whenever I’m in Duluth. Stayed two nights this time, with a bunch of exploring and driving around in between. A few campervans, a Scamp trailer, and several people sleeping in cars. Notwithstanding what the signs say, I’ve never been asked to move. People always friendly.

Report Check-In

Stayed here overnight. Asked the front desk first. No problems. Beautiful view and clean washrooms. Free wifi.

Report Check-In

As described. Construction still in progress as of now. No problems with sleeping in our van overnight, just no room for oversized vehicles still.

Report Check-In

Currently roadway and landscaping under major reconstruction. Only cars allowed in parking lot to enter info center. Lots of barricades. I’d wait until these improvements are completed to consider staying here

Report Check-In

Very clean information center/rest stop! My fiancé and I brought our converted van here for a quick weekend trip and this place has been super helpful. The lady at the front desk gave us all the information that we needed for hiking, kayaking, and good places to eat, super hospitable. The bathrooms were super clean. When we asked if we could park here over night she said “all I’ll say is there’s a 6 hour limit”. So we stayed two nights and had no problems. We saw a lot of camper vans, semis, and RVs parked around us. Definitely recommend.

Report Check-In

Stopped off to see about staying, sign posted with Minnesota statutes limiting stays at rest areas. 10 hours in a 24 hour period for commercial vehicles, 4 hours in a 24 hour period for passenger vehicles. The lot was uneven and cracked, tons of seagulls harassing people, and not well lit. I’d recommend giving this a hard pass, I did.

Water is shut off due to COVID. Stayed the night with no issues.
