Spent a couple of nights here. One other person was camped that whole time, they were very nice.

Beach is pristine! Good amount of trash by the parking pullouts but nothing extraordinary — I filled a large kitchen bag in maybe a half hour.

One evening about a dozen motorbikes zipped down onto the beach, but they didn’t bother us. A different night a black SUV pulled up and stayed for a while. Guys with guns tucked into their pants got out and walked around, but they didn’t mess with me or my camp.

Road is good but probably sticky in the rainy season. The sand on the beach is quite soft so it’s def 4WD only. You can walk to Barras de Piaxtla either on the road or a 4WD trail that runs closer to the coast (marked as a road on Google Maps) - it takes about a half hour on foot. There are also a couple of really nice flat pullouts on that trail, but it’s steep and you’ll want a pretty high clearance to drive it.

We stayed at this place the entire weekend and it was mostly us parked there. Local fishermen came by on their bikes throughout the weekend but it was just us staying the night. We bought some fresh oysters from one of the fishermen and we explored the beautiful empty beach.

The road to get there was a bit bumpy with our Skoolie. There was a bunch of garbage along the beach that we cleaned up to show a bit of respect for the land as well. overall definitely a great place to stay and at least check out the sunsets.

I stayed here three months ago at the start of my Mexican adventure. Still as lovely as the first time. Please help to clean this spot up. This is the second garbage bag I've hauled out of here. Thanks.

Raul introduced himself. He speaks a little English. He owns the only home on the dirt access road. A short block from the beach. He asked that I let you know that he provides secure parking at his place. There are two palapas. No other services. Behind a locked gate. 4G Telcel

Camped one night. We shared this spot with another camper from Spain. Nice spot. Typical garbage. Beautiful .

Report Check-In

As described. This spot is not isolated and people do drop by to go fishing or to have time at the beach. Nights are silent, broken only by the sound of surf. Telcel signal comes and goes. A pleasant stop enjoyed for three nights.
Barras de Piaxtla is ten minutes away with a corn tortilla shop a tiny ill equipped market and a few restaurants open Friday through Sunday in winter.

Stunning location. After leaving 15D, the exit is a narrow dirt road that joins an asphalt road. The first mile has been washed out. Many places where the road has collapsed. Past that, this road, to the beach exit, is smoother than the quota.
Flatter spot on the bluff overlooking the ocean.
I'm driving a mini van. No clearance problems.
3 or 4 bars 4G+
I'll spend some time picking up trash.

Una noche muy tranquila. Y durante el día nadie en la playa. Muy bonito. Lastima que en la mañana fue una camioneta a tirar una bolsa de basura al mar. Si vas, junta tu basura.

Pretty much as reported. Good spot, pretty quiet and isolated. Some fisherman checking lobster traps came through in the evening. Also around 11pm some guys rolled up on motor bikes but I think they were just locals having fun. No problems. Talked to some fisherman the next morning who were nice. Great beach to drive on too if you have 4x4.

We stayed here in Feb, and came back to it because it was such a beautiful spot and felt super safe. This time we came on a Sunday and there quite a few very friendly families there in the evening but no overnight campers. Great spot, highly recommended.

Stayed here 1 night, had the whole spot to ourselves. Great location, as described previously. Met a few locals in the evening, they all said the area was safe, and felt so too. If you’re into fishing, there’s a great spot on the rocky beach side a short walk away. Telcel connection was fine. Easily accessible spot in a 2WD.

As the previous posts stated, this is an excellent spot. It has great views and had both sandy beach and rocky beach. We arrived on a Sunday and there were a few locals but all departed at dark. Monday we had the entire area to ourselves.

Beautiful spot right on the coast. Nice long beach for walking. Amazing sunrises and sunsets. A few locals came by but everybody was very friendly. The nearby village has a few small tiendas and a tortillaria.

100% agree with above description. Perfect, quiet, beautiful, safe.

Some locals are spending the night here, friendly people. Lots of place not to bother each other.
