Nice campsite in the middle of nowhere in the Alvord Desert near Borax Lake. Great view to the surrounding Steens Mountains and over endless desert plains. Access is on a small but good gravel road. It is a one mile hike to several beautiful thermal features of Borax Lake Hot Springs.

Very nice evening on BLM land near a borax dry lake bed. Actually on a borax dry lake bed.
Will update with more information at the end of this trip. Entry Road is a little hard to fine, especially at night! And there is one gate that needs to be traversed through. Remember to close behind you!
A previous entry near here calls this big rig friendly however at about 1 mile and there is a significant dip in the road at a large clase might not find "friendly".
Where we stayed was approximately 1.4 miles in, right after crossing through the first Barbwire gate is an area that would be big rig friendly just off to the right. Not sure how you would turn it around, but hey, it's a flat desert… You'll figure it out.
Photo with the five digit number is the turning off the highway.
Report Check-Insmall dirt road near there led to a closed gate and private property.
