Zambia
Lovely campsite & BnB, located in the south of Lusaka, on the boundary of a residential- and farming area. The owners, Harry and Geke, have opened up their garden and house for travelers and short stay visitors who are looking for a “home away from home”. Their unique and stylish decorated rooms offer a little luxury and the warmest welcomes.
The campsite is set in a beautifully maintained garden with swimming pool and patio facility for your enjoyment. The campsite bathrooms offer an unusual luxury.
It is also possible to join the “table d’hôte” with the owners: a nice meal with an accompanying drink for only US$12,- p.p.
All-in all a great place for adventurers who need a break in a peaceful set up with Lusaka “just around the corner” for their shopping, visa applications, etc.
And not to forget, Harry and Geke are a really nice Dutch couple, already living and traveling through Africa for more than 20 years, so they can also give you good advise on where to go and what to do in Zambia or other places in Africa.
Please give Harry a call or send a Whatsapp before arriving to check availability: +26 0966860445.

The place is a real oasis. We enjoyed our time very much in particular the very nice and large pool! We could also use the washing machine for $5.
Report Check-InReturn Overlanders. All as previous written. Lovely to spend 3 days R and R here in our way North.
Thanks again.
Fantastic as always. Paid $15pppn. New ablution block and green grass to camp on. Thanks Geke and Harry
Report Check-Inwe've been there last year and we know it's a really nice place, but 30$ pn for two people is too much for longtimetravellers, we found a good option in tiffanys creek for less than the half.
Report Check-InLukasa is THE place for overlander in Lusaka. The huge garden with lots of trees, green grass, big pool and clean ablutions is the perfect place for some rest days. The owner Harry and Geke are very friendly and welcoming. We had to wait for our car spares to arrive, so Dan Wyllie towed us here. If you want to be stuck somewhere in Zambia, it's here.
$15ppn, the 7th night is for free ;)
Nice honesty bar and lounge indoor and outdoor. Possibility for joining the dinner table for $12pp. Good WiFi around the main house/pool. Many overlanders are coming to this place, which is nice and unique.
Truly a home away from home. We had a lovely stay and when a bit of rain falls you can be really comfortable here. Thanks for all the hospitality Geke! We stayed a bit longer and with a charged battery we are off to Zimbabwe.
Report Check-InJust to add some infos. Half price for kids (7$/night) but even if they are young.
From here you can use taxi service to Lusaka center (with app "Go" ). It's around 130 Kwacha/way to reach the center.
If you pay Campsite by card they add 3% charges, you can also pay by cash.
They have 4 dogs free to go where they want but really friendly.
A nice campsite with a couple of large spaces where you can freely pitch up underneath the plentiful trees. It is a popular site however and great to meet other overlanders, but if you're after some peace this may not be the one for you. Great ablutions and facilities, definitely good for a couple of days stay.
Report Check-InDefinitely stop here. Grass, washing machine, swimming pool, great ablutions and showers, lounge and relaxing areas and washing up station with hot water. So peaceful. Hosts are so welcoming. $14pppn, $3 per load of laundry (detergent provided). Perfect spot close to Lusaka to take a break and stock-up. 10/10!
Report Check-InSuper nice hosts and staff. A very well maintained campsite and lodge, nice pitches on the grass, washing machine, swimming pool, honesty bar. Just perfect to relax for a couple of days. Highly recommended!
Report Check-InPleasant location close to the capital yet in the peace and quiet of the countryside.
14 per night/p to camp in the pleasant garden with your own vehicle.
Hot showers, toilets, swimming pool, water hose, fully-equipped kitchen, lounge and plenty of places to relax.
Very welcoming managers.
Thanks Harry and Gheke for having us! We really enjoyed it! Also stored our little baby here for a while.
Report Check-InGreat wifi! Had to take a work call while camping here. Held a one hour video conference no problem. Lovely owners. Gorgeous spot!
Report Check-InWhat to say about this place? It’s a little piece of paradise just outside the busy city of Lusaka.
Harry and Geke are very friendly and welcoming hosts. The dogs Boef, Cody, Skara and Zollo (little puppy!) are the kindest and love to be petted. The garden and its surroundings are beautiful with lots of trees, providing enough shade for campers.
You can rent a room for $55 per night (rooms are great with huge double beds, your own bathroom and include breakfast) or camp for $14pppn (you get your own private ablutions, which are clean and well kept with hot water). There is an honesty bar and you can join Harry and Geke for a home cooked meal, including dessert, for $12pp. The food is delicious and also suitable for vegetarians, just let them now!
Besides the above there is a pool, couple of outside couches and fire pit you can use. Furthermore there is a veranda and the main house has a shared living-room where you can sit and relax as well (also for campers). Last but not least there is a washing machine for those in need. One load is $3.
There’s no better place to stay if you’re going to Lusaka. Highly recommend!
Report Check-InAbsolutely fabulous location, Harry and Gee are great people and hosts. We are a younger group and a great location for younger people, good socialising around the fire pit and pool. Gee looks as if she cooks an amazing meal, we also stayed in one of there room ma one night and bed was beautiful and great shower. Would highly recommend, and we hope to be back one day
Report Check-InLovely grounds and ablutions. $15 ppn, set dinner $12, honesty bar
Report Check-InCan only repeat and support previous writings.
Highly recommend. Nothing is too much trouble for these people. Great attention to detail.
Beautiful gardens and surrounds.
Wow! What a find. Absolute haven a few km from Lusaka. Lovely sites in a stunning garden setting. Sparkling clean and modern ablutions and kitchen area.
Huge bonus of large washing machine and tumble dryer available. A beautiful 'lounge' to sit in during wet weather.
Harry and his wife are incredible hosts and so friendly and helpful. Nothing is too much trouble for them.
We loved our two night stay and would 100% return.
Five stars for sure. Don't miss it!
Report Check-InMy third time here. Best camping in Lusaka. Friendly and helpfull owners.
I will come again.
We arrived in rainy season. But that was no problem at this campsite. There is an outdoor kitchen with a roof and a cosy social area. There is even a living room in the main house with a honesty bar.
We enjoyed our stay at Lukasa a lot. What a beautiful place. Geke and Harry are wonderful hosts.
Report Check-InIs a very nice Place ❤️❤️❤️ The owner is very friendly and have a nice Garden 🥰
Report Check-InGreat place. I repeat all comments below. We stayed a week whilst our Landy was at Dan the also great mechanic close by. The only place to stay in Lusaka! Camp ground amazing and the rooms too.
Report Check-InAbsolutely fantastic. Everything is super clean and tidy. The pool and garden is just lovely let alone the dinners. Just genius! Well set up and thought out campsite. Washing machine. We were able to get water, and hook up via extension lead. Highly recommended. Big rig friendly for sure.
Report Check-InVery nice. Very friendly hosts. Clean toilets and showers. Big Garden with Swimmingpool.
Report Check-InStill a beautiful place, but a price update: now 14$ for camping and 12$ for dinner. All else as described.
Report Check-InThis has been one of our most favorite campsites. Plenty of space, great ablutions and we joined the dinners with other guests. Brilliant nights with other overlanders. Wi-Fi, pool, lots of sitting areas and a honesty bar. Highly recommended. Big Rig friendly.
Report Check-InWe had such a wonderful time at Lukasa, with Harry and Geke and all the other travelers. It was a good place to unwind from traveling and get things sorted out. A must stop for every traveler passing by Lusaka. Really nothing to add to what's been said. Only that it is so hard to leave! Almost like leaving home all over again 😉. We definitely come back when we are around.
Report Check-InWe have stayed with Harry and Gee 3 times in the last month as we bounced around Zambia and each time the welcome and hospitality has been exceptional. The sire and house are beautiful with a lovely swimming pool, green lawns and beautiful clean, hot showers and toilets. A laundry with washing machine is available to use. Harry and Gee invite the guests to join them for communal dinner around a large table set out under the stars. Gee cooks the most delicious food and the evenings atr full of interesting chatter and laughter. There is also an honesty bar. During our stays we met many of our overlanding 'friends" from Instagram and it was so good to connect in person. if there is a correct formula for running a campsite and lodge Harry and Gee have found it!!!
Report Check-InWe had the pleasure of meeting Harry today, and being shown the site and facilities. The place is a rare gem---beautiful, open, and run with the finest principles. Treat it well!
Report Check-InHarry and Geke are the perfect hosts and helped us with really everything! After months of overlanding we felt immediately at home at this lovely place! Our kids loved the swing, jeu de boules, dogs, big basket with toys and of course the swimming pool.
We couldn’t resist the beautiful rooms (with a bath!) and felt for the B&B instead of the campsite, which was definitely a perfect and affordable choice!
Would recommend to stay here while visiting Lusaka!
Report Check-InTotally agree with the underneath reviews! Harry and Geke are throughly amazing hosts and the place is just awesome. It’s also really family friendly with a separate guest house for families with private ablution! There is a big swimming pool, nice dogs and large grass area. For our family of 4 with 2 kids of 2 and 4 years was it just a magical place for a couple of nights! Really recommend to stay here when you are in Lukasa. Nice to meet other overlanders as well.
Report Check-InGreat place, lovely people. Harry and Geke are really friendly and we enjoyed the nice dinners together. Showers are also very very good! Harry also helped us to find a mechanic.
Report Check-InAnother stay with Geke and Harry. Always a great pleasure to stop here, have dinner, wash clothes in this small oasis.
Report Check-InHad a great stay here! Their washing machine can be used for 3 USD per bundle, it was very handy to us! Owners always willing to help. Excellent MTN internet signal. Price still 12.5 USD ppn.
Report Check-InGreat place with very friendly owners. Atm 3 campsites (officially), may fit 4 cars, though. We arrived so late (and after dark) that we took a room with own bathroom in the house, which was very clean, nice and big. Good bed and nice bathroom. $50 for 2 ppl. Camping would’ve been $12.50/pppn. Nice breakfast with strong coffee was included in the room price. Lovely and quiet setting with pool away from the hustle of the city. Good location especially if you’re on your way south. 3 friendly and lovely dogs on the premises, too. :)
Report Check-InVery nice stay with Harry and Geke! Beautiful place with a nice room and everything you wish for!
Report Check-InA lovely campsite outside Lusaka in the quiet garden of Lukasa Lodge. Hot showers and laundry facility. Swimmingpool. Friendly owners. $12.50pppn.
Report Check-InPerfect place in all aspects!!
Excellent food (even for vegetarians, who don't eat garlic 😉).
Wonderful 12.5 m pool, also for real swimmers!!
We felt like home and wll definitely come back one day.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
We stayed 6 wonderful nights here thanks to the hospitality of Harry and Geke. Camping is fantastic with many facilities such as swimming pool washing machine fridge freezer space and very good ablutions for 12.5USDpppn. We stayed in a room for 45USD breakfast included. You are also welcome to join them for dinner 10USDpp. There is an honesty bar too. Really recommended.
Report Check-InPretty garden with lot's of fruit trees. Harry and Geke are very nice people.
They advertise with a free 5th night. You (adults and children) will not get that when you bring children, because children are half price.
Report Check-InWhat a great place to stay, especially over Christmas. Harry and Geke are wonderful hosts and really make you feel at home from home. We camped in their lush garden with indigenous trees, lots of birds and a pool. There is a new communal area with a couch and a pool table where you can relax and there are some more things to come.
Everything else is as described before. If you need something, don't hesitate to ask them
Thanks again for that fantastic Christmas, the delicious food and your hospitality.
We arrived at Lukasa for one night and we stayed 7 ! It says it all …
Quiet and magnificent garden with beautiful trees and lot of birds, clean and large swimming pool, luxury ablutions, fridge & freezer, laundry, vacuum cleaner, nice food (possibly to book for diner) and last but not least wonderful hosts, the owners Geke & Harry. Always available and ready to advise, help and joke. We spent Xmas there and it felt really like a home away from home. In one word, a place of paradise for campers
Great place! We came here with our 3 young kids and they had the time of their lives. Playing in the pool, swinging the big home made swing or playing volleybal. Geke and Harry are very good company where you feel at home straight away. Please have a meal with them as Geke is a great chef.
Prices are very reasonable.
We stayed at this beautiful place for five nights and enjoyed it very much. A large, well maintained Park where someone spottet 60 different species of birds within 24 hours. Nice large pool, clean ablutions, shower with hot water.
Very calm at day and night. Shady spots to camp under big trees on the lawn. Powerpoints are in the ablutions. Harry provides extension cables with cable drums, if you need it.
Harry and Geke, the Hosts, are extremely friendly and hospitable - you feel at home right from the beginning. They are also offering B&B.
We paid 12,50 Dollar ppn on the campsite, cash in Kwacha.
Report Check-InSecure parking just out of town. Accommodation and airport transfers available.
Report Check-InBeautiful!
We paid 12,5 dollars pppn and 3 for the washing machine. Recommended!
1st visit, as campsites go it was ok, got to park up on their lawn, power available to hook up when their's no load shedding.
there is no bbq/braai water or power hook up on camp spots but there is a wash up room with fridges, not sure if they are for guests to use.
The ablutions are neat and tidy although I feel its not enough if there is going to be a few campers around as its solar heated only.
Expensive at Kwa260 pppn strangely linked to the Dollar
We very much enjoyed our stay at Lukasa! The garden, where we camped, was a little green oasis. The four dogs were adorably affectionate. The evening meals were delicious and it was great to meet other guests around the table. Harry and Geke are truly wonderful hosts with a knack for making one feel immediately at home--and indeed like personal guests rather than just customers. While there, we were even invited to a wedding festivity (thank you, Dominic!), which we will remember for a long time. The prices are very reasonable, the toilets are clean, the water is hot, the grounds are secure--yes, yes. But it was the personal touch that our hosts brought to the experience (including super helpful itinerary advice from Harry) and the little community that they created among themselves and the guests each day that made our stay so special. Highly recommended!
Report Check-InYou will feel at home! The place is lovely, so is the host. Their rooms are also affordable and very comfortable!
Report Check-InBack again, after parking our truck here for few months. Great hospitality as always
Report Check-InParked here for overnight and got useful information from Harry and Geke about traveling in Zambia in the rainy season. We came back since we we didn't feel good and got so much help and welcome hospitality. We also parked our campertruck here for long parking time.
Report Check-InVery nice to be back atijuui this nice hidiie away in Lusaka, with 6 other overlanders. We took a room this time and enjoyed our private bathroom and the big bed after a long time camping. We had some cozy nights together around the fireplace on the terrace. Harry and Geke can really help you with everything. We did a mountainbike tour with Geke to the Kafue river! Love this place!b
Report Check-InBeautiful house, great pool, grass, huge garden for yoga super nice owner. We were there with three other overland couples and had a fantastic braai. Highly recommended.
Report Check-InWe had a lovely stay camping in the garden of Harry and Geke. Lovely ablution block. Peaceful setting yet close to Lusaka to do business. $12.50pppn.
Report Check-InHome away from home! Campsite bathroom has now been completed and the owners have changed the name to LUKASA.
Report Check-InWe really enjoyed staying on this green campsite! It is a perfect base for traveling in Zambia(all roads lead to Lusaka.) Harry and Geke are the Dutch owners of this lovely place and live here together with there 6 friendly dogs. They just finished the new outdoor bathroom for campers, the hot solar shower is fantastic! And you can even take a bath on request and look at the stars! There is also a laundry machine and a fridge and freezer that you can use. You can take a dive in the swimming pool, play a game of jeu de boules or just enjoy the sun in the big garden. They now a lot of people in the area and love to help you planning you're trip in Zambia. Great place, we can definitely recommend it!
Report Check-InIt was great to be back again. We enjoyed the swimmingpool and company of the owners, volunteers and other guests. We could use the kitchen and washing machine. There is a good mechanic close by. Dan, See I overlander.
Report Check-InVery chilled place to stay and ideal location for Kafue Rd and Makeni/Cosmopolitan malls. Harry and Geke are full of useful information and easy-going, friendly, the dogs too.
Report Check-InReally liked the place and the owners. Also six friendly dogs around. We had a good relax stay and nice meal. We will definitly come back.
Report Check-InLovely informal Campsite, located in the south of Lusaka, on the boundary of a residential- and farming area. The owners, Harry and Geke, have opened up their garden and house for travelers and short stay visitors who are looking for a “home away from home”. You can camp (US$ 12,50 p.p.p.n) in their beautiful green garden or on more solid ground. The ablutions are currently in the process of being erected, but you can use their communal bathroom in the house. It is also possible to sleep in one of their cozy bedrooms in the main house (4 rooms, 2 of them with private bathrooms, prices 30 – 50 US$ per room per night).
There is a great swimming pool and you can enjoy the sunset on the veranda or have a drink in the home bar. It is also possible to join the “table d’hôte” with the owners: a nice meal with an accompanying drink for only US$10,- p.p.
