Alabama hills recreation area. You are allowed to stay for free in the middle of all the rock formations. It has some firepits and it's very quiet and a great place to stay and walk.

Latest Check-Ins
Stunning. Lots of turn outs along Movie Rd. The pin is close to a big one with a fire pit. If you’re around on the weekend, lots of folks come to take photos but don’t stay. Probably best to stay at a different turn out if available.
Report Check-InMagical! Easy and beautiful. All pros! Only con is that I couldn’t find a drinking water refill station so I had to buy gallons from supermarket
Report Check-InThere are some new camping restrictions, mostly near the entrance of Alabama Hills where the paved road turns to dirt and it's mostly the west side of the road. Once you pass Mobius Arch Trailhead everything is free to camp from that point on and east of the road. A lot of the spots have campfire rings built with rocks. Beautiful views!
Report Check-InAwesome location in the Alabama Hills. Enough for 3 rigs possible. 3 Established fire pits. We used the one next to the big rock! Trail right next to this spot. Awesome view to Mt Whitney

Report Check-InAlong Movie Road there are many camping spots. Beautiful area! Quiet. Some data reception. Perfectly manageable with our 21 ft 2WD RV.
Report Check-InVery beautiful places. Very quiet. At the evening, there are many desert mice (gerbilles in french). We have seen just 1 but our neighbours have seen a lot.
