Something not right?

Description

We slept one night in the main plaza. It is not very flat, but ok. They were constructing something near buy, so noise earlier morning! We asked the police station and they said that the little town is very safe and we could chose anyplace to spend the night. I think we didn't chose good, but at least we could spend some time in the park and watch the people. Don't miss the road to get here, it is one of the most beautiful roads we took in South America, you get really inside to the Cañon de Chicamocha. The town is very small and pretty, little shops nearby the plaza. Not really touristic place, more authentic!

Beautiful drive through the canyon here. Nice tranquil town. Just chilled out for an hour and headed out. No problem camping out in the plaza. Police station is on tge west side of plaza.

Report Check-In

Initially we stayed close to the main river, 1.6km south of Cepita. But warning for severe rainfall made us decide to stay closer to the village. The square is very nice, but just north of the main square, close to the football field, you can stay on a quiet flat spot, just next to the small river. River is not accessible because of steep fortified walls to cope with high water.

Nice little secluded village. Plaza is totally tranquil on a weekday. Local kids flocked to us but was fine. Crystal clear 4000COP piscina municipal just half a block from the plaza was a real treat.

Authentic little town. There are many walks around here. Don't miss the Mirador just outside of town! There is also a lake to walk to as well, but we didn't make it. If you are hikers, you could easily spend 2-3 days here.
