Prices have gone up, now 10500 pesos for two people in a van. That’s about €7,50, which is steep for Argentina. We stayed one night because we were warned for a loud carnival party the next night, close by.
A nice campground anyway with some minor shortcomings.

Beautiful camping in a green environment. Lovely family runs this wel kept place. Monique and Carlos are very helpful. Separate area for camping.
Nice swimmingpole. BBQ area, electricity and amenities are clean. Free wifi and a bar and also a covered area where you can sit if it rains.
surrounding is beautiful.
We have been here for 3rd time but it’s one of our favourites!
prices now are:
per person 1000 pesos
tent 800 pesos
motorhome 1200 pesos
caravan 1500 pesos
dermis 6000 pesos
good prices because we paid elsewhere much more for less! But things can be change because of the inflation.
we calculate with blue rate

We stopped to sleep, but we gave up. The Camping seems to have good infrastructure, but the cost was $1,000 pesos per person + 1,500 for our car (one defender 110). We slept in the city's central square.

Nice campsite, the pool was fun and the showers are nice and clean. We drank the water from the tap (there are multiple) and felt quite sick the day after. We know of another cyclist whose stomach was upset after camping here - we suspect it might have been the water. Hopefully your stomach can handle it.

Wonderful camping! Carlos and Monique have an incredible life story, they lived many years on the road and built this spectacular campsite, everything is taken care of with great care and they are excellent hosts. The local structure is perfect, lots of nature, pools, tables, grills, bathrooms, hot showers, we loved it, but the best thing was definitely getting to know them. We can't forget to say that Llamón is a very nice neighbor!

Camping maravilhoso!

This wonderful campsite is owned and run by a Argentinien / Dutch family. Monique speaks spanish, german, french, english and dutch. We planned to stay for a night or maybe two and endet up with more then a week. Camping Los Olivos is very big as it has 2 parts. One huge part for day guests with one huge and one smaller pool, toilets with shower and a bar with a big roof for rainy days. The other part is for camping and dorms. We got told there might be music on Fry or Sat. There really was on Sat, but we didn’t hear anything. If you have a weak sleep just drink enough wine with Monique snd Carlos :)
For us it was it the best Camping after 5 months in Brasil, Uruguay, Chile and Argentina. They were very open and willing to help us in any kind of situations and also organized for us trips to bodegas!!
The entrance on IOverlander is the campsite entrance. For the main entrance use -28.038765, -67.586932. Its just on the street after the turn you would go to the campsite entrance if you come from Tinogasta. If you are there before 12:00 check the campsite entrance and horn.

We can only recommend this place. An oasis in the desert, green, lots of birds and with all facilities and a nice swimming pool. The owners Carlos and Monique are very welcoming, friendly and helpful. They are just wonderful.

Report Check-In

Next door is a club, so extremely loud music during the night (could not sleep, even with earplugs...), which is a shame because the campsite itself is great and the owners are very friendly. Perhaps better not to come here during the weekend.

Report Check-In

Camping los Olivios is one of the better campsites in Argentina and worth staying for a few days. Carlos and Monique are very accommodating and there is plenty of shade, with water, power and lighting available. The internet has just been upgraded and is fast by Argentinian standards. There is a large pool which is great for swimming and cooling off, with some large bbq areas, and a really nice children’s area with miniature town square, pool and buildings.

Camping for two with a van was $400 pesos per night ($150pp and $100 vehicle) and the on site bar was reasonable for drinks. They also have waste separation for recycling and organics.

Don’t forget to say hello to Toby the sheepdog and Jamon the llama.

Cerrado. Estaba todo inundado. No había nadie.

Cool oasis, clean refreshing pool, cleaner than most. Friendly hosts, Well designed bathrooms with dusty cobwebs and dirt around the edges of the floor, toilets have problems with flushing, slow wifi.

Lovely place, hosted by carlos and monique. Great moment relax in an harmonius place.
150 p by person + 100 for the car. It’s worth! Dog allowed. A oasis on our trip.
Green, lovely swimming pool, and perfect host.

It was closed for day-only visitors but not for overnight camping. Carlos very efficiently set up everything for us. Wonderful place, not to be missed.

Report Check-In

As said before a great place, built with care. A place to relax. Very welcoming hosts ( btw. Monique speaks Dutch too and I was impressed with Carlos’s Dutch and English as well )and full of information about the area and scenic roads.
Quiet nights! Wonderful pool, clean and beautiful bathrooms.
Best time is during week but Monique warned us about their neighbours on the weekend. Music if that is what you call it all night long.
We would return again if in the area for sure on a week day!

Report Check-In

Nice spot! The price has gone up to 125arg pp.

Report Check-In

Stayed here two nights and really enjoyed it. We felt very welcome and Monique and Carlos were super hosts. They let us use their WiFi in their garden - where they have a lama pet btw - super cool! We could chill in the pool, use the grill etc. You have the possibility to hand-wash your clothes, shower etc. An oasis in the dessert with trees, grass, cactuses and lots of shade. Definitely worth venturing of Ruta 40 to go here. Then do the drive up to Fiambala and from there to las papas and further to Antofagasta. It takes a long time and requires 4x4 - so plan to leave early. The drive is off the beaten track - we didn’t see any other cars the whole day we were driving and saw three totally different landscapes.

Very nice campground. The guest speak also french. 125 pesos par personne plus 100 pesos for the motorhome.

This is a really nice place, in fact a little paradies. The restrooms are made with love, everything is working, in difference to other campgrounds in Argentina. There is a pool, a bar and all the terrain is in wonderfull shape. You should not miss this spot.
Open from the beginning of November to the end of March.
Very nice owner, Monique and Carlos.
Monique also speaks english and german

Report Check-In

Already closed for the season. The lady at the tourist information in Tinogasta says they're only open in summer (= end of Feb for her definition of summer).

Report Check-In

What a great find for us. Monique and her husband Carlos have a very nice homely setup with great facilities in a relaxed environment. During the day there can be some music noise from the day camp but at least it is controlled and not intrusive. If you are looking for a nice break for three or four days to rest up from all that driving this is the place! Good showers and toilet facilities and average wifi.
