MODERATOR NOTE: WARNING! Thefts and vandalism reported in this location. Please use caution.

The price per night is 6.000. colones per person. Kitchen with gas stove, grill available, two newly constructed bathrooms with large showers, wi fi, parking, oceanfront. We have electricity in the common areas, but do not offer for large camping rigs, as we do not have adequate supply in campground.
The property is very clean, quite and safe. We can park up to ten cars but Tent top vehicle parking is only available in our lot by the rancho. Since they use two spaces it limits our space. They asked 7000 per person. We didn’t stay.

excellent place.
a bit far from town, 15 min walk.
very recommended

Report Check-In

Agree with most people's description. Cosy nice clean and beautiful setup. Only tents at the beach view.

Only an update: If you want to check there is place for you, you can WhatsApp (don’t call) Maria at +506 8942 5667

Report Check-In

This lovely place has 2 places for a rig, several places for small tents and a functional kitchen. We spend 3 nights here. Maria keeps the place very clean. All day the front gate is closed but you can get in and out when you want....so it’s a safe place.
There is no sandy beach is front but there is a small tidal pool. It’s a 4 minute walk to the beach with sand and were you can swim in the Caribean Sea. Every day we see Agouti and today we see a sloth on the ground and climbing up.

Report Check-In

We were a bit hesitant after reading a few reviews here, but we found a little slice of tranquil heaven, really beautiful place and well maintained garden. Dona maría is a very sweet woman. Facilities include kitchen and showers/bathroom. A bit old but clean.
Paid 6,000 pp/n.

Report Check-In

The place is nice, you can see iguanas, lizard, blue frog, squirrel and others. But :
The kitchen facilities are not enough, the owner are not really chill - they are even rude and disturbing you, while doing your stuff, they kicked us out at 3 pm after 8 nights staying, and it overpriced (6k pp) like everything in Cahuita. You can bargain the price if you stay many nights, and say that there is other camping cheaper (which is actually the case, Shelton 4k and one in town 4k too).
It's not really safe, people come and go every day in the camping and there is not really locker available (except to disturb Margarita)

Report Check-In

A very dangerous place in front of the sea, next to the public path. We stayed here in our tent and someone walking the trail ripped it open with a knife. Our wallets and other personal items were taken. THANK GOD, we weren't sleeping! The public path passes directly in front of all the spaces of the tent. There is absolutely NO SECURITY here!

Report Check-In

Un lugar muy peligroso frente al mar, junto al sendero público. Nos alojamos aquí en nuestra tienda de campaña y alguien que caminaba por el sendero la abrió con un cuchillo. Nuestras billeteras y otros artículos personales fueron tomados. GRACIAS A DIOS, ¡no estábamos durmiendo! El sendero público pasa directamente frente a todos los espacios de la carpa. ¡Aquí NO HAY absolutamente NINGUNA SEGURIDAD!

Report Check-In

Probably the best camping on the Caribbean cost! Maria is an inspiration! The area to park a car is at the back of the camp and not ocean side so Maria let us stay in her tent near the ocean and gave us a hammock to hang in the trees! She even cut open a coconut and showed us where all the sloths were hanging out! What a dream place! Facilities are basic but all you need! Outdoor kitchen included!

Report Check-In

pequeño pero con áreas bien definidas para las tiendas de campaña, lo que le da privacidad a cada campista.
cuenta con cocina con refrigeradora, servicios sanitarios y duchas limpias.
cuenta con wifi.
los anfitriones son muy amables.

Camping near Playa Negra, with good facilities and right on the sea

Report Check-In

Alles in allem 100% empfehlenswert!! Wir kommen bei unserem nächsten Besuch in costa rica wieder. Felix und Anna

Very friendly owner Maria and her husband run this camping right on the sea. There’s a natural pool; lots of shade and plenty of flowers and trees and wild life. Maria is super helpful . She made mango marmelade and it was delicious. 2 showers and toilets and communal kitchen with ranchito. Room for 2-3 campers only, reet is tent camping. Crc10000 a night for camper.

The best camping from the east coast. Maria is a very lovely woman who is super enthousiastic. Camping space for cars/vans is limited.

Report Check-In

We found the place and there was nobody. We called the number 2 times but nobody was there. Also the garden was quiet and looked closed.

Report Check-In

We arrived here around 3pm and Maria wasn't in. Managed to explain to her children in our very basic Spanish that we wanted to camp in our van.

Garden is beautiful, with frogs and hummingbirds, would be great for overlanders with tents but unfortunately you can only park the van on their driveway so you feel a bit overlooked. $15 per van seemed a little expensive for a driveway...

Report Check-In

Nice campground! We could park our rooftop tent at the parking. The garden is beautiful and the services are basic but nice.

The price wasn't too clear for us, so we negotiated with the young guy. I think we've paid 5000 colones for 2 nights.

Report Check-In

we stayed here 3 nights, it was great! Maria's garden is beautifully with peppers, coconuts, banana's, Small oceans pool to dip in and loads of wild life. we saw sloth's, hummingbirds, frog's, tucan.
the facilities are ok, bit old but all work.
maria and her husband are very friendly and helpful.
if your looking for a place to chill and recharged from wild camping this is a great place!

Report Check-In

very nice place to stay. Maria and Don are very friendly. Beautiful garden in front of the ocean with slots , monkeys, birds and butterflies.
We paid 5000 colones per person.

Report Check-In

Nice and friendly campsite, beautiful at rocky coast with natural pool. Warm shower and little kitchen with fridge. Ask Maria were the sloth. Close to a few restaurants. We walked from here to the Cahuita Park

Report Check-In

We stay here 2 nights and is was great. Shower and toilets are OK, they is also a kitchen and a big table to chill.
The garden on the beach is so nice!

Report Check-In

No animals aloud anymore. We have 2 cats. We turned around and went to the reggae bar and asked around for safety and everybody seemed chill! 8$/night at the bar

Report Check-In

Real nice campground in walking distance to Cahuita and the National Park. Maria, the owner, is very friendly. She had a baby sloth in care and a lot of animals are around.

Report Check-In

Photos of camping areas,Attaching some recent photos as the garden has been replanted and new trails from parking, kitchen area to tent sites.

Report Check-In

Beautiful campsites in front of the ocean. The price is 5,000 colones per adults 12 years up. There is limited parking for camper SUV.......6 spaces, but most guests arrive by bus.Property is fronted by coral, but soft sand beach is 2-3 minute walk.

Report Check-In

Camping Maria’s was excellent! 5000col p/p/p/n: We stopped here for 2 nights in our 4x4 with rooftop tent. There are cold basic showers, communal toilets and a shared kitchen with all the basics. Maria herself is lovely and talkative, offering fresh chillies and mangoes from the garden. If you have a tent you can camp down by the ocean. Only a short walk from Cahuita - would recommend the national park hike here too .. just watch out for capuchins!

Report Check-In

A beautiful spot to stay a couple of nights. We stayed for 3 nights, 10000 colonnes per night for the 2 of us with car with rooftop tent.
You could use the covered place to cook and eat your breakfast/lunch/dinner.
Very kind owners.

Report Check-In

Maria is a very nice person. We stayed there for 4 nights and really enjoyed the place.
Maria cleans every day.
10000 colones per nights for 2 adults, free for the children.
Internet works fine.

Report Check-In

Clean Campsite with two showers, full kitchen wifi, limited parking, ocean front

Report Check-In

Enjoyed our stayed with Maria, Don (American) and the sweet dog Manchas.
It is better for tent camping as the further back on the property you go it’s beautiful. Hammocks, tables, landscaping. The “big” rigs and camper vans camp in parking area which can get tricky if multiple vehicles. They were very nice and made room for us.
Their area of beach is gorgeous but rocky. However you walk two minutes to soft, black sand beach.
The kitchen with cooking supplies, stovetop and fridge were really nice. The covered tables were especially nice since it rained a lot. Showers typical and cold. Internet worked well.
Potable water! They even test it.
Paid 10,000 colones per night for 2 kids, 2 adults.

Report Check-In

Great campsite, Maria is a really good person, she opened us at very late hour! We pass a great time here

Report Check-In

We spent a night staying at Maria's camp ground before we cross the boarder to Panama. It's actually the yard of Maria's house with some facilities like kitchen and bathroom. The location of the camp ground is good, very close to the beach. The facilities are very very basic, and the yard to park the car is actually pretty tiny (with maximum 4-5 cars). When we arrived, there were already 4 cars there, the owner was able to squeeze us into their yard but as we blocked his car, he told us we need to get up next morning before 8 so that he could get out.

However, the next day we got up very early in order to let him pass but he didn't go anywhere for the entire morning. And the owner was cutting wood all morning making some big noise which is a little bit annoying when you would like to relax a little bit on the beach.

So generally an ok place to spend a night or two, but we don't feel like to spend more time here.

Report Check-In

great place. we paid 5000pppn for adults. gorgeous quiet location. easy walk to town. we stayed over a week. Don and Maria welcoming and helpful. recommended.

Report Check-In

Great campsite! Its a big garden at the rocky beach, with hammocks and Nice sitting areas. There’s a kitchen outside with a big table to have a beer or eat. Maria is a great host, she opened a coconut with her manchete for us and we were more than welcome to use all kinds of herbs and peppers from te garden. We feld really welcome!!

Beautiful campground with kitchen and two gas stoves, refrigerator, sink, two bathrooms with showers, wi fi. Several tables throughout, natural pool for swimming, hammocks for your enjoyment. Price per person per night is$8.00. We have a few tent rentals and the cost is $9.00 per night per person. Bicycles for rent at $7.00 (only for customers).

Report Check-In

The price per night is $8.00 or 4,500. colones. Kitchen with gas stove, grill available, two newly constructed bathrooms with large showers, wi fi, parking, oceanfront. We have electricity in the common areas, but do not offer for large camping rigs, as we do not have adequate supply in campground.
The property is very clean, quite and safe.

Report Check-In

We walked over here from Regae Bar to check it out as we really wanted power. It's pretty small right now as they're building something. No to power offered as they claim too expensive. didn't stay here.

Report Check-In

We ended up staying two nights as we visited the Cahuita NP, which is in walking distance from the campground (admissiom by donation). They have small but clean outdoor kitchen as well as a cold shower and a toilet. The Wi-Fi is really good as well. We told Don that we only have a small fridge in the back of the car so he was okay with plugging in. Do and Maria were both very nice and friendly hosts. We felt very safe. We payed 8000 colones/16$ per night for 2 people. Don said the price is not negotiable.

Report Check-In

Super chill spot on the ocean. not a ton of space for more than 3 or 4 vehicles. our rig is 27ft long and 3.5 meters high and it was cozy maneuvering to get it in. you park in the small parking lot and there is a nice outdoor kitchen and table area with wifi immediately behind the parking area, so it's like an extension of your rig. no electrical plug-in allowed but there is electric in the kitchen / lounge area. the wifi is fine if it's just one or two campers. even fast enough for netflix! the beach is all rock/ coral so pretty to look at but not to walk on. lots of shaded spots for tents and pet friendly. overall a nice chill spot if you can handle no electric plug in. owner seemed very much nice and sane when we were here.

Report Check-In

It does not get any better than this place, friendly host, Ocean pool, crushed Coral pathways, right on the water, kitchen, tent friendly, good Wifi, toilets, cold showers, it's got the lot. Walking distance to Cahuita. Planned on 2 nights, tore myself away after 7 nights. You will be sorry if you don't give this place a go

Report Check-In

checked in here to visit the tree of life sanctuary in the am and sloth sanctuary. 8 per adult and kids free. beautiful garden spot beach front for tents also has platform areas with hammocks we privately used since we camped with our van. lovely place!

Report Check-In

Still a great place, Maria is a little loopy, but a lovely person. We got free coffee each morning and random food that she made too. There is electricity,,but she goes nuts if you plug in, and whatever you do, dont rearrange the furniture! gardens are beautiful, a great place for tents. She wanted $8pp, but were were going to leave at that price so she dropped it to $5pp. Stayed 5 days.

Report Check-In

Lovely little campsite. just enough room to get our 25 foot RV in the car park. Nice pitches for tent camping. walking distance to Cahuita and local bars and restaurants. no electricity, water via a tap but cannot connect hose to it. reasonable but patchy WiFi. recommended.

Report Check-In

I was welcomed by Maria very warmly. The camping actually looks like a big garden on the waterfront. Really cool. Behind closed gate. I paid $10 a night for a car with rooftoptent. Comes with private seats under a shade, kitchen, grill, clean toilet and shower. Wifi staid on at night because I asked. Really nice place.

Report Check-In

Nice place, quiet, good host. Problem is she randomly turns off Internet and water. But she also brought fresh fruit and coffee to the van every morning. Worth the visit, we stayed 5 days.

Report Check-In

Closed when we stopped by. Called by phone as well and no answer.

Report Check-In

Beautiful camping area and kitchen. Bathrooms are fine, fast wifi. Owner is a lovely and even told us to help ourselves to fruit from the trees, she charged us $7 each per night. If you want electric hookup she charges $2 more.

Report Check-In

Owner was kiffing al the time and shouting in the Morning. 7$ per Person and Night. 4$ for electricity. It was not allowed to fill up our domestic Tank. We dicided to leave as soon as possible.

Report Check-In

Beautiful, beside a rocky beach, walkable beach 100 m away. Full kitchen, play room with books, pool table, guitar. Weary of dogs but she really liked our Canadian poodles.
