ILLEGAL. was sleeping in a passenger car. cops woke me up at 2am and told me sleeping was illegal in all of gulf shores (Alabama side) they told me to go to Florida and pull over somewhere. they suggested any public beach access point but I didn't see any without signage for closed hours so I'm in a residential cul-de-sac and hopefully won't get bothered. cops never would have known if I hadn't had my car windows rolled down as there were dozens of empty cars and trucks under the bridge, so if you can look empty, like a pickup truck with a shell or small van and you aren't fogging it up, you might get away with it as parking overnight is clearly permitted, just not sleeping. I would also consider grabbing a drink and then sleeping in a dive bar parking lot if you're driving something small as I don't think anyone would bother you there.

This place looks great for overnighting. We stayed at Walmart last night, but I wish we would have stayed here! It has great beach access and outdoor showers!

Stayed here on a Friday night. Quiet apart from the clickity-clack of cars going over the bridge. Plenty of space and flat
