lovey spot. plenty of people having a picnic. would have been a good camp spot. 100s of places in the trees. there also must be a way to cross the river because there were heaps of people there too. mostly visible from road but you may be able to hide.

I think it is gone, the whole valley is fenced off.
Not accessible anymore.
some families come here to enjoy the place, walk up the hill and so on. I was hitchhiking and I thought walking here would worth it- it didn't. no drinking water, but quite clean stream (creek?) passing by. there wasn't much wind the night I was there. not many trees, but you might manage to get somewhat hidden if you feel like it. some cowboys passed by my tent and didn't say anything. when I arrived a father was making a bonfire with his sons, I asked if he thinks I could drink from the stream, he said it's probably not good idea and he offered some drinking water he had. hitchhiking out of here in the morning doesn't seem to be easy, very little traffic so I'd recommend trying to walk a bit closer to the official camping site nearby, there's a place for "difunta Correa" nearby, perhaps that's a place to hitch if you're heading towards El Calafate. this place might be nice for those traveling by car, as it's far from city. you still see the road and here the few vehicles that pass by during night time.
Report Check-InQuite nice location. Plenty of places to choose on both sides of the creek. Firepits, some trees. Not bad when it comes to wind protection - we use a roof tent. We were alone that day - probably because it was very cold evening (4*C). Creek was easy to cross but high clearance is recommended. Main road is visible and hearable. More or less clean.

Nice grassy area. A lot of locals picnicking there. Couldn't cross the river with our HiAce 2x4 - our friends had to pull us over.
Report Check-Inmany lovely spots with some trees, we stayed 2 nights, almost no cars passing -> quiet. we crossed the creek easily with a combi 4x4 . creek has some small trouts (~20cm?) & water was at least clean enough to wash myself (without soap of course)
wifi at ypf-station
Not many trees for full cover from the road however a few people have pitched tents so must be acceptable to camp. We felt more covered after crossing the river (there are a few shallow spots where you can cross with ease, someone followed us in a Citroen Berlingo). There is also a formal campsite a few hundred metres south of here.
