Description

After giving up on the hope of a quiet night by the lake (it was heaving with people) we stumbled upon this little treasure. We got here quiet late and the unassuming gravel road by the creek quickly morphed into a raging torrential waterfall. We loved it! We camped out in the open (not viewable from road) but there were dozens of tracks leading off into the scrub where there were heaps of local families camping and having a good time. It was pretty cool - from our spot we felt totally alone, and then an entire family would just 'emerge' from the bushes. No facilities, but the creek is there for water. Few fire pits around.

GPS-Data updated to mark the entrance if the gravel road. From there just drive on until you find the place that you like most. Accessible for big rigs - only be careful at the entrance.

Very good place, as the previous comment said "just open and close the gate after you get through it", beautiful view and really quiet. 3G on

Superbe place a côté d'une petite cascade, ouvrez fermez le portail après être passer, beaucoup de place, très belle vue, le réseau passe, vraiment au top !

we visit the place without sleeping there. it s like a uge wild camping area with space for many cars and vans. Many spots to have privacy, shadow and wind protection from bushes. Use by locals. We took water there for the next days, no problem with it so far ! Some little paths goe up to the top of the waterfall and bring you to a beautiful area where you can camp with tent (we saw a few campfires there). Good shoes and even walking sticks highly recommanded for this walk.

Great spot, we spent 2 nights here. At this time of the year, during the week, there was nobody here. You can find more sheltered places in the bush, depending on how strong the winds are here. Bring your trash with you and don't make fire, the wind is strong and could spread your fire.

Passamos duas noites tranquilas aqui.

Wow beautiful.
Clean, trees for shelter.
Stayed here after strong rains, it was fine to drive.
4G Entel for those who need it/care

Really nice and quiet place with many bush-areas for rigs, vans, tents. You can find windprotected bush too, for our popup was also great.
Fresh water from the waterfall .

No facilities.

Great spot! A little busy as mentioned, but we enjoyed staying here for a couple of days. When coming down the road the dirt path splits into 3 roads (all leading to the same place). It’s best to take the center one. The road on the right has a steep drop just before you make it to the big clearing. One of us topped out and needed a tow!

Report Check-In

Nice place. Close to town. Fills up on weekends during the day but that’s too be expected. Misty clears out for the evening.

Report Check-In

The waterfall is beautiful and the water from the creek tastes like the best ever!

Report Check-In

Great place! Ton of space and lots of bushes, so a lot of privacy even when there are other people which often is the case (many locals). It's public / municipal ground so completely fine to be there, just close the gate after you pass.

Report Check-In

Beautiful spot close to a waterfall. Great wind protection between the trees. Shared this spot with 2 other overlanders but plenty of space to feel secluded. Through the gate only 200 meters to the waterfall. Lots of trash left behind in the bushes so be cool and leave this wonderfull spot clean!

Report Check-In

what a beautiful place! So many space for everyone, BigRigs, cyclists, tents.... Huge flat and grassy area. Good wind protection. The gate was closed, we opened and closed again. Enjoy!

Report Check-In

Didn't stay, but perfect location, it seems well protected from the wind, too.

Report Check-In

Peacefull place, a lot of different spots to choose from, protected by trees and bushes. Close to a river and small waterfall. There's a sign saying no fire allowed, but there are fire rings everywhere and garbage...

Report Check-In

Good place to spend a night on your way to PN Torres del Paine. Lot of places to cover for the wind, mostly flat but the road towards the places is a little bumpy. Quiet night! Unfortunately a lot of trash, let’s keep this place clean!

Report Check-In

Very Nice very quiet ! Recommanded for a peacefull night.

Gorgeous place. We’re the only ones here - last Friday in February. The Nat Park was very windy today but here, the cover means it’s totally fine. Sitting by the river, looking at the waterfall, drinking a little aperitif, watching a condor perched on the hill opposite. Thanks you previous overlanders for finding this place!

Report Check-In

Beautiful Campspot, there were a lot of fireplaces. There are bushes and trees here and there, where you are sheltered from wind and other campers on the ground. We were there two nights, one which was on a saturday, where it was a bit more crowded. The waterfall is just beautiful!

great place. full of travellers and locals, but also a lot of place.

Nice spot at the river. Accessible for all kind of cars.

Report Check-In

Lovely spot, there are numerous places for tents or vehicles and there is good wind protection. Water is good to drink without filtering. There's also a narrow trail that leads up over the waterfall, a bit sketchy in places but definitely worth it for a spectacular view out over the area.

Report Check-In

beautifull camp! we filled our tank with the water from the waterfall and our dog really enjoyed it here! good shelter from the wind you can also make fire and no need for 4x4

Report Check-In

Agreed- amazing spot. We were fine with 2 wheel drive, just need to keep speed and momentum through puddles and mud. The entrance road to the left of the highway had deep water but can drive down the embankment just before the guardrail no problem. Poured rain the night we were here and no problems getting out, just park in a more elevated spot and at least 6 feet from the edge over the river. Incredible!!

Report Check-In

Totally agree, great spot when the weathers good, really cool waterfall and lots of places to camp / park with a bit of privacy. Not too far a drive north to get some great views of Torres Del Paine.

Report Check-In

Great place by the river with tons of flat spots for rigs or tents either in or out of the trees. Very quiet, except for the occasional passing car. Just be aware that after rain it isn’t especially nice or 2WD friendly- it gets very marshy and muddy. Fairly protected if you go into the trees a little, but still windy.

Report Check-In

We were the only ones for the night and it has been nothing but quiet and peaceful. Gate was open and plenty of space. A good spot for a night of wild camping without facilities before heading back to civilization.

Report Check-In

What a gem. Great spot! We had the place to ourselves when we were here.

Report Check-In

Wow!!! One of the best camps we have been so far! We stayed for 2 nights and spent a wonderful time! Please take your trash and leave this place so nice at it is!

Report Check-In

Great spot, endless nice tent sites or motorhome spots...nothing more to say.

Report Check-In

This hidden gem is incredible. It is one of the best camps we've had and the beauty of it, just WOW! The water is clear and flowing from the waterfall. One family came for a picnic and left a few hours later. We had the entire place to ourselves.
There are a number of fire rings, we did not make a fire as it was too windy.
If you follow the road back toward the cliff it is more wind protected but it is further from the water.
All in all an incredible place.

5 star location. We were alone. Very sunny 🐲

We had a wonderful quiet night. The gate was open and there was noone else around. Perfect place.

Lugar muy lindo y protegido del viento. Muchos espacios para carpas. Posible de hacer fogatas. Nadie esta noche.

Lieu très sympa y protégé du vent. Plusieurs espaces pour les tentes. Possible de faire des feux de camps. Personne cette nuit.

THE place to wildcamp. We were there with 2-wheel drive, no problem. Had a great campfire, only this I was missing was some red wine which I should have bought from super market.

Report Check-In

Very beautiful place! There are some paths you can follow in the bushes, with several places to stay.
We found a perfect spot and stayed two nights. Totaly quiet.

Report Check-In

We were totally alone here. Awesome spot with the roar of the fall.

Report Check-In

Indeed lovely place, seems to be used by locals, fire pits around and unfortunately also some trash. However, lots of nice spots in the trees or next to the waterfall (more exposed to the wind). Well hidden from the road.

Report Check-In

Great spot. Well away from the road. This is NOT closed, the fence is open just after crossing the river. Plenty of sites with wind protection. Obviously a place the locals frequent. We were here with what looked like one other site being used by locals. Quiet and full of bird life. So happy it is open as options are limited otherwise.

Report Check-In

Not closed. No fence. Follow the gravel road along the river (before the bridge on the way to the Park). Lots of grassy spots. If you go far enough you'll see the waterfall. Really nice place. Nice view and quiet.

Report Check-In

This place is open, no fence and locals recommended it for camping! you can pitch up your tent between the trees, good shelter from the wind. Parking for motorhomes seems to be possible as well. Wonderful place!

Report Check-In

yes, very nice spot. drive direkt behind the bridge through the open fence, along the river (200m) to the waterfall. we stayed allone, no facilitys.

Report Check-In

fenced off when we tried to stay here, maybe you're not allowed to camp here anymore.
