we are enjoying fishing and sleep. so peaceful

Report Check-In

Excellent cell service. Lots of fisherman

Report Check-In

As described by others. Nobody here tonight.

Words CANNOT express how cool this spot is. Arrived on a Sunday around 3pm we were the only camper there, that made us a bit nervous. The parking lot was full of families fishing. Everyone was quick to clear out after sunset. There was one group throwing a party at the pavilion that wrapped up around 10pm. Another camper showed up around 8pm, it was just the two of us for the night. In the morning we had the parking lot and beach to ourselves.DO NOT, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, USE THE PORTA-POTTY! Its full to the brim and need to be emptied. Use Circle K by ferry before you pull in.

Caution, Road People! Huge parking lot on the water near a fishing area and boat launch. Really pretty with blowing palmetto trees and fishing potential. Free spot. No ‘no staying overnight’ signs. Be careful, the water rose 6 feet during tropical storm-like conditions. Winds that howled and rocked the cubbyvan, Promaster Van. Very scary! We saw police vacate a lower spit across the inlet early evening where a thumping party was going on. Next morning, it was submerged. Party over. Very few people here and isolated so there is potential for riff-raff. As always in a public area, lock your doors and stay alert. Cell phone service is fine for emergencies. One overused porta-John that looks like it has not been serviced in a very long time. We made breakfast for a woman living in her car with broken windows, who weathered the storm last night. Be kind to others, we are all on the road to take care of each other. Keep hand sanitizer close and touch nothing.

This is a free, informal campsite. They allow overnight parking. There is a port-a-potty and a dumpster. However, it is a very isolated, minimally lit place and kind of spooky. No one bothered me including a police officer who was there at sunrise but did not approach me.

Report Check-In

Camped here last night. Nice spot. People were here fishing but was left when it got late.

Report Check-In

Very quiet area and beautiful sunrises but the BUGS are horrible. They are similar to gnats but they bite. They were worse at night.

Report Check-In

Wonderful location! Try and catch sunrise in the morning. Lots of tiny bugs (micro-gnats!?) mostly near the palm trees.

Report Check-In

Amazing spot! We were the only ones here all night! So so beautiful and worth the stop!!

Report Check-In

Arrived Thursday around 8 pm. Million tiny bugs that fit past a screen started eating us alive. By morning bugs went to bed and we saw an amazing sunrise.

We spent 2 nights here and woke up Saturday to a C.O.J. knocking on our door at 7 am telling us we can't have a horse here because its private property, I said sorry and thanked him, he said we have 1 hour before cops show up. 30 minutes late a sheriff cruises the area, sees our horse and drove off.

we are 2 trucks and 2 trailers and take up good 70 feet of beach front. packing up and heading out soon. amazing good spot here.

Report Check-In

This is a great spot. I will definitely return.
Lots of people but not bad.

Report Check-In

I contacted COJ, and they replied that camping at the boat ramp is not allowed. but Since we are outside the gated ramp/picnic area, I was outside of this area. fine line I'm sure. there were 5 vehicles here overnight.

Report Check-In

Perfect night out. Raining at arrival and cleared out for dinner. peaceful.

Report Check-In

Arrived around 10am and stayed all day & night through the next morning. Gorgeous sunset & sunrise! Lots of people fishing and in / out visitor movement during the day. Highway is kind of loud during the night, but it’s light traffic. It’s free and there’s a porta potty and a huge trash bin. I didn’t use the porta potty but I did see a truck come by during the day to service it. Lots of bugs & birds, but it’s a nice area!

Report Check-In

awesome place. a lot of people come here for fishing but it usually cleared out at night. pretty safe too

Report Check-In

We showed up around 8pm and there were quite a few families here, but by evening most cleared out. Like the other reviewer, we slept the night and no one bothered us.

Report Check-In

We headed to the spot on the other side of the bridge but ended up staying here. There were fishermen there late into the evening. No one bothered us all night, we left at dawn. This was a great spot.
