Busy during the day but cool and quiet at night. In the evenings you have the lake for yourself. Baños clean, sinks for dish washing and i guess you Could use the facilities of the campground (we just didn't). Very beautiful!!! Height restriction at the entrance (3M) So MAN trucks wont fit but Could park just before the gate (not overnight though).
——

The PN is only accessible for vehicule below 3,60m and below 10t as there is a wooden bridge on the way.

Report Check-In

Parked here during the day with our Campervan. When we come back from the hike, a ranger directly approached us and told us that this place is for day parking only and it is not allowed to stay overnight.

Report Check-In

Mid february, it is not allowed tot camp on the parking. With a truck camper, the only possible place tot stay overnight is camping logdge Huerquehue, 1800 m from the park entrance.

Report Check-In

Nice campsite and the cheapest! The price is 16 000per night per campsite (max 6people) and includes the entrance of the park (even if you walk the next day), hot showers and electricity. The ranger is super nice and very helpful.

Report Check-In

We were told by the ranger that there was nowhere to park the camper van in the park to sleep in. However, we called the Refugio and they said that we could stay there. Two notes: 1- you have to cross a river (~1-2 ft deep) to get to the refugio and 2- you do not have to pay entrance to the park just to stay at the refugio, only for the days you hike. So we drove in, stayed 3d/2n at the Refugio and hiked one of the days, then just paid for the one night that we hiked on our way out of the park. We have added the Refugio as an established campground for more information about staying there. One more note, in mid-November there is still too much snow to be able to hike the San Sebastián trail

We entered the park for a hike (entrancr now is 7.000 CPL pp) and asked aboit the camping. The friendly man on the front offered us to camp in the parking, as we dont need any electricity, etc.
He said as it is off season now its no problem - in the summer it won‘t be possible due to the amount of people. There are toilets at the parking and a possibility to take a swim in the lake.
The hike to the lagoons was very muddy but funny!

Update:
Sleeping in your car / van is possible but you have to pay the fee for a campsite, 18’000 Pesos and entry fee 5’000 Pesos / Person.
Maybe we just had the ,,wrong,, Ranger or they changed the rules about sleeping in your Van.

We left and spent the night somewhere else. Will be back tomorrow for a hike!

Great “senderos” and beautiful parc. For sleep some camping 8000/6000p and you CAN NOT sleep in your van in parking. NOTE : parking into the park it’s 2000p extra.

Absolutely recommend this national park. I thought it was much better than Huilo Huilo. From the car park the los largos trail is more like 16km return. But worth it. Took us about 5-6 hours with lots of stops for photos, food and a swim.

Loved this place! Although lot fills during the day, completely empty in the evening, and blissfully quiet at night. Two brand new bathrooms on the path to the lake, along with the ones at the nature center. There are outlets next to the benches in front of the nature center, and if you had a super long extension court, you could possibly have electric overnight. Additional outlets in each of the new bathrooms as well. We drove in at 7pm, looked for someone to register, no luck. We stayed for two nights without paying anything. No one comes by to check on cars in the parking lot...at least in off season. Both evenings we enjoyed bottle of wine by the lake, water is clear and beautiful. Occasional hiker comes along and takes a swim. If we didnt have to keep moving, could have stayed here much longer!

Report Check-In

Overnight at this parking lot costs 15000 for 2 and a Motorhome, plus entrance fee for the park 5000 pp. But we’ve slept two days and nobody want to know it.
Very busy during the day but in the evening and night it’s quiet.
Hot showers, clean restrooms.

Report Check-In

Spent 4 nights there, a lot of trails very nice !
The rangers said we had to pay 5000pp per day spent on the parking lot but they never came to charge us and we left without paying more than the entrance of the park, close to the beach
Bathroom available
Loved it !

Report Check-In

stayed here the night before and after the San Sebastian hike.
nice flat gravel lot 2mins from the beach.
arriver at 8pm and never had to pay.

Report Check-In

We can only confirm the San Sebastián hike was one of the most beautiful hikes we ever did. We had, a very clear day. Path leads through wonderful forest, araucarias and the view on top over volcanoes, lakes, wood is fantastic. The upper section is a little bit tricky, but even the 1st part to the plateau (650 m elevation gain) is worth it. There is no water along the path- take enough with you.

Report Check-In

ok...the park opens at 8.30 you can buy the ticket one day before and then start the hike early....because in january there are tonns of people. so we slept at a privat property outside. we asked and the owner said ok. otherwise you have to pay 5000 gor the parking. the sendero san sebadtian is just gorgeous.

Report Check-In

A great free place to stay with toilets and a short walk to the lake which is finally a good temperature to swim in compared to the other icy swimming holes close by. When I woke up a park ranger asked me how my sleep was after getting out of my van and said it was all good to stay.
NOTE: If you’re thinking of doing the 7 volcanoes walk, be very aware you’re on the right one. Two different walks leave from the same car park that you camp at. We were confused with the lakes walk which is the same distance and 20km is a pretty long walk to accidentally do. It’s nice but at the final mirador we expected to see a circle of mountains, not some underwhelming hills. Whoops

entrance to "Cerro San Sebastian" hike is open until 10 am, if you'll come later than that - they won't let you go.

Report Check-In

We stayed for three nights in the parking lot, absolutely quiet during the night once all the day time visitors left. I recommend parking on the second parking lot after you enter, it has an easier access to the lake and you have bathrooms and water right there. It was free!

Both hikes are gorgeous, just be careful to leave on time. We wanted to start hiking up to San Sebastián at midday when we were stopped by the guardaparque who said we were not allowed to leave for this hike past 10.30am. It's a weird rule because it takes around 7h return, bug he couldn't be convinced. So other start early enough or invent a little excuse when you get stopped. On the way up there are no further control statins that would prevent you from accessing the top.

Absolutely beautiful park. We arrived late on a friday and were directed to the car park where we could stay the night. The visitor centre just next to it has toilets. We were the only ones and had a quiet night. Early saturday morning we did the hike partially through snow up to Laguna Verde, approx 5 hrs return. Trails from there were closed unfortunately. This time of year foreigners pay 2500 pesos each. Entrance gate absolutely no problem for us (3.20m).

Report Check-In

The hike "Cerro San Sebastian" that starts from here is highly recommended!! The most astonishing view (360 degrees) we've seen of all the hikes we did so far. We were very lucky with a sunny day and no clouds in autumn! It's a tough hike, especially the last part, so only recommended when you are fit. It took us 6,5 hours to return, including breaks.

Report Check-In

Definitely recommend San Sebastián hike - incredible views all around. If you do one hike in the park (and you get a nice day) - make it this one. Parking lot OK to stay in for a night.

Some additional information:
- we could easily pass the entrance with our overlander (height 3.5m).
- the park entrance ticket is only valid for one day.
- this is the only free parking lot in the NP.

parking lot . no services except water and bathrooms.
