Description

I found this spot on Google Maps satellite view while scouting for dirt roads that lead to the ocean. Ended up being the best campsite anywhere near Mulege! 3 bars with LTE, close enough to the highway that you don’t spend forever driving to the campsite, and INCREDIBLE views. A nice guy named Miguel stopped by and says he charges $5 to stay here. He showed his ID and seems legit. We told him we were only staying one night and are heading out and he was fine with that and didn’t charge us.

WARNING! Do not leave your van unattended for even 10 minutes! There is clearly an active thief scoping this place for vans and will break your windows to get in. Please be VERY cautious if you stay here...

Easy to get to with 2wd. 2 spots on the cliff and 2 spots in the shore if you stay close together. fast telcel on the cliff. slightly slower on the shore. free. great views. quiet.

Was an awesome spot to spend the night until we had an break-in to our motor home. I was fishing down the beach and my girlfriend was working out maybe 50 yards away when someone got into our rig, rifled through our things and stole a bag along with maybe 900 pesos from our wallets. We could have been safer, but figured we were okay with our rig in plain sight and earshot. Never heard a car pull up or anything. Assuming someone saw us from the road and snuck up while we were occupied on the beach.

hey lovely quiet place, except for the waves at high tide! the beach is virtually North facing, so the waves hit it square on. it's probably the best place for being free, not seeing the lights or hearing the sounds of the highway, nor being seen, and of course there's no crowds. I would stay here a very long time, for it being so close to a town like Mulege,, if it weren't for the wave set making it difficult for launching small boats.
.... there's a track across the stones to the South from where you encounter the beach. a two-wheel drive with 6-in clearance and tires at 28 lb is capable of going quite a distance in that direction, which brings you to a place where the high tide it's literally 15 ft from you, but you're well raised up on a berm. I really love that, but yes the waves are very loud there then, at night.

Beautiful spot on the cliff to wake up to overlooking the crashing waves as you begin the journey into Bahia Concepcion. I didn’t go down the hill as there was only one other camper on the cliff and we had ample space between one another. You can see the highway but not hear anything with the waves. A must stop!!

Another user labeled this “Direct Waterfront” but those coordinates didn’t take me to the cliff only the turn off. I’m hoping mine do. You can make this with 2WD.

I had three bars of LTE here with TelCel and if you buy the 2 hours of TelCel wifi access online and use a hotspot the internet works great. Or at least mine did!

Tricky to find the exit from Mx1 come off onto the hard shoulder.
federal land free to camp and Ejido land entry, no sign of Miguel or Raul . better option that in Mulege.

Spots for a few vehicles. One big spot up top at this gps location. One van/car spot further down the hill near the water. And more on the beach for 4wd. Road in is fine for 2WD. Good cell signal. Quiet. A few locals come down the road, all friendly.

Pasamos aquí una noche. Hermoso lugar. Difícil de encontrar la entrada con el carro. Pero tienes que fijarte en Google Maps y poner satélite y ahí ver qué camino te conecta con la playa. Y tomar ese camino, no necesitas 4x4. Y es hermoso
