Beautiful high desert grasslands with lots of big old oak trees. Would be busy on a "normal" weekend. Dispersed campsites, fine for cars and trailers, although big RV's and big fifth wheels may be a problem. Good cellphone reception (Verizon) and less than an hour from Tucson.

Google maps was not useful once I hit the empire ranch. I was not able to make it to these coordinates due to a gutted section halfway up the dirt road going northwest. A high clearance vehicle might be able to make it. Instead, I found a turnoff earlier back on the dirt road and camped there
I passed a border patrol checkpoint on 83 only checking northbound traffic right before turning off.
