Description

January 2024: price is now 12,000 pesos /day/person for foreigners.
Argentinians pay 3100$.

With an overnight ticket from a hotel or campground one could reenter without paying again. This is probably meant for all the summer vacation people in Puerto Piramides who make the island their home base for several days and may want to explore other things in the area. There are no extra fees if you simply stay in the park overnight and just exit once. That's how the whole thing was explained to us. We stayed two nights and no one checked anything at the exit. Btw. contrary to common belief this is not a national park. Pets are ok to enter. The only places they're not allowed at are the walkways of the wildlife viewing spots. At the visitor center (big ugly building on the right) several kilometers down the road, they got maps and a tide schedule. They'll recommend you to visit certain places at certain times for the best chance of spotting wildlife. (Mostly a visit makes sense during whale season though. We only got to see sea lions, sea elephants and penguins.)

The entrance for foreigners now costs 12,000 pesos PER DAY! If you are on a low budget, I guess it is not worth it... It's also a long drive on corrugated dirt roads to visit most viewpoints, where you are usually quite far from the animals. Punta Delgada viewpoint is closed. If you don't want to spend this amount of money in Valdés, I would suggest visiting Punta Ninfas instead, where you will probably be alone with the sea elephants in a scenic landscape and its totally free! For penguins, Punta Tombo is cheaper and the place southeast of Río Gallegos is free! You can check those spots in the app.

Report Check-In

Price has increased to 7200 Argentinian pesos p/p.

Report Check-In

The price is expensive but you can stay as long as you want, so if you stay a week its ok.

Report Check-In

price is up to a ridiculous 6,200 pp for foreigners... we paid it reluctantly but everything inside this park is tedious. dogs allowed only in the city limits, even though it's thousands of acres of arid scrub land. 77km of gravel road from the city to punta norte, smooth and wide enough to do 100kmh on it but 60kmh strictly enforced through the middle of nowhere. didn't see any orcas at punta norte and it's getting late? tough titty... you have to drive the 77km back to town to camp in a parking lot and do it all over again in the morning. very unpleasant experience. if it weren't for a potential National Geographic moment I wouldn't even come here. we came for 4 days and didn't see the orcas, or much of anything else. the crazy tide fluctuations were pretty cool to see though.

Report Check-In

It is now 6200 pesos for extranjeros, PER DAY !!! They're literally ROBBING you.
I am so shocked of this price... Considering it only includes the entrance of the park, and no other services. This is probably one of the most expensive parks in Argentina (considering what you get for this price). We didn't go, unfortunately...

You can bring your dog into the park. You can take him/her for walks in Puerto Pirámides, everywhere else he/she has to stay in the car.

Report Check-In

Entrance to the Valdes peninsula. Here we paid 2800 pesos per adult and 1400 pesos for children. Our 12-year-old daughter also paid 2800 pesos. Peninsula accessible by motorhome. For the night you can sleep in Puerto Pyramides because it is prohibited in the park. If you don't go back here you can stay on the peninsula as much as you want without paying back.

Report Check-In

new price 2800 per adult for 1 day, only 1 official camping available inside

Report Check-In

1600 pesos per person for adults. Inquire here about availability of camping as we were asked if we planned to camp (yes) but when we arrived at designated campsite at Puerto Piramides, it was 'completo'. We beach-camped a little further to the east where there were quite a few RVs but no services.

Report Check-In

New price for foreigners is 1600 ARS pp, ticket is a one-time entry unless you’re staying in a hotel and have proof of it with a receipt. But you can stay as long as you want on the peninsula, just not leave and come back again when you’re camping

Report Check-In

Flat and shrubby like most of the land around ruta 3.
Not worth the money.
850 to get in with instructions to ask questions at the information centre 20km further on. By then it's too late...
The Information Centre told me the only camping was in Puerto Pirámides expensive at 550 for one person on a tent and once you're on the gravel roads it's forbidden to stop. They also told me the coastal section of the northern loop was closed, which just left a radial route open. They should have mentioned this at the gate. I had arrived at 6pm and saw the bird island which was disappointing and a quick look around Puerto Pirámides.
I camped behind some bushes at the side of the road and left the next morning without battling their awful gravel roads.
Poor value for money and too many restrictions.
I'd hoped to spend a few days in nature but the restrictions prevent that.

Just for information if you decide to enter: today (07.12.19) the companys who are doing excursions told us at the small town that they already didnt see whales for 3 days now and that the whale season is already over in december.. (in all of the tourist maps december is still pointed out for whale season)... We were a bit sad because no one could told us this in advance before entering the park, not the tourist info in puerto madryn nor the ticket salary.. If you just want to come herr for the whales make sure you come earlier :-) because all of the other animals (except orcas i guess) can be spottet on the coast elsewhere

Report Check-In

Entrance fee $850 pesos for foreigners. They give us a map and some instructions at the Park.

Report Check-In

Price per person is now 850 pesos because of the inflation. Be careful with the weather because if it rains they close all the roads of the peninsula (except the one to puerto piramides). You need to check the status of the roads at the tourist offices.

Report Check-In

650 Pesos for foreigners. The road to Punta Pardelas is closed with a locked gate. If you want to visit Punta Delgada you have to eat in their overpriced restaurant or pay again. Camping is only allowed in Puerto Piramides. If you want to see Orcas you need to be very, very, very lucky. All the other animals you can see better, closer and without driving 140 km gravel road every day. Penguins at Punta Tombo and Cabo dos Bahias, whales at Playa las Canteras, Elephant seals at Playa Isla Escondida and sea lions at so many places along the Patagonian coast.

Report Check-In

Now 650 Pesos for foreigners! At least we didn’t have to pay for our car, maybe because it was ours and not rent. Still cash only.

Report Check-In

650 Pesos per person, no charge for the van. As you are not allowed to stay overnight at the interesting places we cannot recommend going if you are overlanding. It’s just a whole lot of driving on gravel roads in a single day. All the animals can be seen somewhere else and to see the orcas it takes luck even during high tide. We wouldn’t do it again.

Report Check-In

Now ARS 650.- pP!! We didn‘t enter - Whaleseason is over.

Report Check-In

520$ per person and 80$ for the car now!!

Report Check-In

We visited in the dead of winter which is not the season for basically anything unfortunately. Unlike us, do check this beforehand to avoid disappointment and better spend time elsewhere (whale watching at beaches prior to park was fantastic!)

Report Check-In

Now $415 for foreigners!! $210 for children over 7!

Report Check-In

As off very recently the entrance fee to the peninsula is 415 argentinian pesos per person if you are of foreign nationality, no discution possible. It is valid for as long as you stay in the park.

Report Check-In

$330 per person, just in cash. They can speak English and there were nice and helpfull.

Report Check-In

The entrance fee for foreigners is still 330 pesos. But we also had to pay 20 pesos for our rental car. A strange provincial law said we have to....

Report Check-In

The tourists have to pay 330ARS pp. Argentinian people only 160ARS

Report Check-In

Regarding re-entering the park, we were explained this by the staff in the entrance booth: You can leave and reenter the park without fee once, even without a booking from a camping or hotel. You just need to tell the guard when exiting so he can make a note on your tickets. We did not try this out

Report Check-In

Tried entering at about 9:30 pm and there was still a person working the gate. There is no student discount and from what we could see there is no chance of entering the park after hours as there was gates at both entrances and the exit

Report Check-In

330 pesos for foreigners and 180 for Argentinians (in November). Once you get inside, if you want to leave and come back again, you need a paper from hotel saying you are staying there. So if you wildcamp, you can't reenter without paying - once you pay and enter, do everything you want in a few days and then leave for good.

Report Check-In

We paid 330 Argentinian pesos per person to get onto the peninsula. lady at ticket booth spoke English

Report Check-In

Foreigners pay 330 Pesos, NOTE: cash only! Does not matter how long you stay in.

Report Check-In

It is 330 pesos now, for foreigners.

Report Check-In

Foreign nationals pay 260 entrance fee per person for a day pass. Argentinians pay less than half. With an overnight ticket from a hotel or campground one could reenter without paying again.
