Overnight stays are no longer permitted along the Ruta 42. Yesterday we were sent away by two rangers. The next places to stay overnight are either at the campsite in Puerto Piramides or the beaches south of Puerto Madryn.
Report Check-InThere is no sign that camping isn‘t allowed. Not sure, where this information is coming from.
Maybe because it is in the Reserva de Biosfera Peninsula Valdes. But his doesn‘t automatically mean that camping is prohibited. The whole Southern beaches of Puerto Madryn are in the Reserva as well and tourist office sent people there for camping. It probably is different on the Península which is a National Park.
The access to this spot is a little bit steep, muddy and slippery after rain. We needed 4x4, diff lock. Drive further north towards the peninsula, there are several nice spots with easy access. There we watched whales right at the shore.
Report Check-InNot as much a beach as a hard standing by the sea. No camping allowed anywhere along this coast. There is a BBQ area and a smelly bin. Signs request no dogs however some of the fishermen here had them.
