Description

There are loads of great bush camp spots along this side of the river, across the river from the paid campground. There are no facilities and it is Free. Entrance is just before the bridge, and there is a sign that says no camping, but there were no less that 15 vehicles and 30 tents camping in this area when we arrived, so we joined them. There are lots of trees that provide some shelter from the wind.

This free and wild Camp is not anymore. We stayed here in 2019 and January 2020. Now there are fences. But there is a commercial campsite nearby. And also some free places to stay, one or two kilometers away, also for big rigs.

Top place to stay for a few days. Unusual very clean.

coordinates are good but use maps.me to reach the spot. You can follow the river on small dirt roads (before crossing the bridge) to find plenty of different spots. Lot of climbers around and the climbing is amazing.
If you keep going the road after the bridge for about 5km, you will find Martin's house (check the other point on ioverlander Los guindos). He has pretty much everything you need: food, beer, hot showers... very friendly man.

Great camp spot, amazing views and lots of space even if it gets busy. A walk up the canyon is a must, incredible scenery.

Five stars!!! So far our best place in Argentina right now. And the coordinates are correct.

Very romantic place with view on Rock Piedra Parada. Left side before crossing the bridge is the entry to a wide place. It’s private ground but it’s allowed.
500 m behind the bridge is a information point of Guarda Fauna, they have topographies of climbing routes and informations for hiking.

Lovley place on chubut river side. Next to Piedra Parada. Spectacular walks in the canyon opposite the river.

Amazing spot. A lot of people are camping here because they do the climb on the canyon at the opposite side of the river. We spent here a really quite night. There is a lot of space for every kind of vehicle and there is some tree where is possible to find some shade, but you have to be lucky to find one shaded spot free. Definitely a good spot for more than one days of rest.

We loved this site. No facilities, but right on the river in a beautiful location. We were only meant to stay for one night, but stayed for 3. Plenty of space, fire pits. Go when there's a new moon--the stars are incredible!

5 stars, what a beautifull wild camp spot!!! There were around 20 other people camping here (some allready 2 months!), but the place is so big that you feel like being alone. The guardaparque drives by now and then and knows people are camping here, but apparently it's ok although the sign says it's forbiddden to camp.
