Description
DOC campsite for CSC vehicles, on Lake Poaka, next to the canal. Beautiful spot surrounded by mountains. There is also Freedom Camping at Lake Wardell, a little further along the Canal Road. which has a 3-night minimum.

Nice place with lots of space. It's from the DOC but here it's free and apparently without registration. There is a donation box.
