seems this place is closed, not sure if this is permanent or not, the owner sent us to Al Galope, see other entry.

Report Check-In

really nice owner, helps with organizing the trekking. camping closed for maintenance at the moment, still recommend!

Report Check-In

dirty crowded camping plus hostel;
2 dirty toilets without toiletpaper for the entier campsite plus hostel. dogs braking and howling all night, cars and chicken in the kitchen on the floor the tables and in the bin. not recommandable.

Report Check-In

Great place to stay and leave a car while hiking Cerro Castillo. We spent 2 nights here and left the car for 3 days while hiking. To leave the car was 1,000 a night and we just hitchhiked to the trailhead in las horquetas. The bathrooms were very nice and clean with hot showers. The WiFi was slow but worked and reached our camper.

Report Check-In

8000 for a dorm bed without bedding.
4000 for laundry
wifi is not good.
not a bad place to spend a couple nights

Report Check-In

you can leave your car here during your trekking, 1000clp per night. seems like a good enough campsite, although showers were cold when we were there and the kitchen and common area were far from clean. the owners arent exactly the friendliest but may or may not be able to help you arrange transport to las horquetas. id just hitchhike there, its easy enough

Report Check-In

A very nice place! Stayed there with a camper van and add the possibility to acces the « commun area » that contains: WC, shower, kitchen, sofas, small library, wood oven and wifi connexion. The place is very clean and welcoming, plus you have an amazing view of the surrounding mountains. Would go back there anytime!

Report Check-In

5,000pp. Nice communal room with kitchen. Only 2 bathrooms and 2 showers for both people staying in hostel and camping, clean, tp, hot shower. WiFi was slow. Great view!

Report Check-In

Amazing place to stay for any camper - tent or van. Amazing views of Cerro Castillo, beautiful rustic common room, fantastic hot showers. 5000 to park my camper for the night and sit and relax in the warmth.

Report Check-In

amazing place! it's really hard to find something good in Cerro Castillo but I loved this place. Wi-Fi quite ok, better than most places in CC. hot hot shower. nice people

Report Check-In

Campers can be placed on the field in front of the campsite, only part of which is out of the wind. Nice to be able to use the kitchen and hang around in the common room. Views of Cerro Castillo are excellent!

Report Check-In

Only few and dusty tent grounds, for most of them you have to carry your bicycle uphill.
For luggage storage they want 1.000 CHP per peace and day (bicycle and panniers count separate)!

Report Check-In

Good hostel / campsite. With our campervan we could park in the grassy area in front of the hostel. It’s not very protected from the wind (it wasn’t that windy when we visited) but has beautiful views of Cerro Castillo. The camping spots for tent are bit more secluded by some bushes and trees. There is a big communal / kitchen area which you can use. It could do with a bit more tables and kitchen supplies, but overall it was a very nice place to sit inside, because it was a rainy day. The wifi didn’t work when we visited. The owners are very friendly and helpfull with information on all possible hikes you can do (the women spoke both english and spanish), but they are not always in common / reception area. The showers are very hot. We paid 10.000 pesos for two people and a campervan.

Report Check-In

The views from the campsite of the mountain range on the other side were good. The campsites are located on a hill and may be not too big and level. The sites are separated by bushes and trees. wifi wasn't great. So if you're hoping for a good internet connection, that might be not a good place. at least it wasn't working well for me. The shower was warm.

Report Check-In

Went with car with tend on top. Not the best solution in this case because its not very protected from the wind. I believe for normal ground tends the situation is better since there are protected corners. Cost for camping was 5'000 clp per person per night, including use of hot showers and kitchen and common e areas. Campers/camping people can access also an extra bathroom area outside of the main building. Alternative and seemingly environmentally friendly, the kithen is not super tidy but has everything you might need. The staff was helpful in finding the best route to hike the next day. Overall okay.

Report Check-In

we went to different camping places in town, they seem to offer the same price (5.000 $). this seems to be the only one that allows campers to use the kitchen. the places to put the tent are seperated by bushes, which gives a little privacy. the kitchen is not the best i have seen, but has every thing you need.

Report Check-In

They dont have the camping option anymore. they guide you to the campsite el mirador. if it is the same in high season i dont know. The young guy speaks english.

Report Check-In

If you’re looking for a quiet hostel to sleep after a long day of cycling, this is not the place. People were partying in the common room till 11:30pm, people in/out of the dorm and turning the lights on till midnight. Bathroom was pretty gross during my stay. Better than sleeping in the cold, but hardly a good nights sleep. Wouldn’t recommend

Report Check-In

Fine spot for our big rig. Wifi was basically non existent.

Report Check-In

Well...price 5000p/p. Had a hot shower! Kitchen full of backpackers, I mean full. Internet slow, super slow. Have seen better places, but ok for one night with our van.

Report Check-In

Good atmosphere. Fully equipt kichen. 10 bed Doorm, not enough space for luggage, to few power plugs. To few toilets only 2 for doorm and campingsite. Good location, Nice view, and close to shooping. 8000 chp pp in doorm, with own sleeping bag.

Report Check-In

This was one of my favourite places on the Carretera Austral! There's a lovely common area to hang out, a nice kitchen and quiet/private campsites. Cerro Castillo was such a great day hike too. 💪🏼

Report Check-In

Camping: $5000 per person, good ground protected by the wind, no facility use for campers after 11/11:30 p.m.
Bed: $8000 with your sleeping bag, $10000 without.
Good kitchen, average wifi. Had a relaxed stay here.

@artnic_2015

Nice open campground with beautiful vieuw on mountains. Good advice for trekkings.

Confirming what everyone else has said. This is a great little hostel. 10,000 pesos for a dorm bed with bedding, 8,000 pesos for a dorm bed if you bring your own bedding. 4,000 for laundry. We did the horse ride up to Cerro Castillo and it was incredible. It was 6 hours of riding and hiking for 30,000 pesos per person in the low season. I believe the summer price is 35,000 pesos.

Report Check-In

Such a cozy common room, nice host and owner and private areas for tents. It's a great option!

Stayed in front of the building with our small van. Nice Hostel. Payed 4000 p.P.

Great place...Great and helpful owner. Thanks a lot!!!! Phantastic surrounding.

Report Check-In

Good place to camp. Pitches have access to table areas and a sink. Very sheltered. Main hostel is very nice with large kitchen, wood burner, lots of hot water and very clean bathrooms. Good wi-fi (if using camp spots close to hostel you can get connection still). Recommend staying here - Mary was very nice and helpful.

Report Check-In

Really nice place, great views and very friendly owners. Good wifi, big kitchen and really nice hot shower! Laundry CLP$3000 a bag.

Report Check-In

Really nice place. Tent spots are small but private and there is another area if you'd like to cook outside. The kitchen and common area are great! Hot shower works very well. 4000 pesos pppn.

Report Check-In

Really really good place! The common area is so great and warm (important when you are traveling during winter). The kitchen and the bathroom are well made. The dormitory are nice too. 3000pesos per person for camping (that a really good price for the quality you get). 2000pesos for a laundry. Good WiFi and nice owner.

Report Check-In

We had an AMAZING stay here. The hostel is warm and cozy and the camping is nice and each site is private. Mary and Christian are great, super knowledgeable on the area and the multiple hiking opportunities in the area. The horse back rides are really fun too!

Report Check-In

If you are visiting Cerro Castillo, we would highly recommend visiting Senderos Patagonia. We broke down about 5 km south of town and arrived here via tow from a bull-dozer, so large rigs will have no problem. Mary, who is from Ohio, and her husband Christian were very helpful and friendly. They lead horseback trips up to a beautiful lagoon on Cerro Castillo. There is a huge flat area in the front to park, about 7 spots for tents behind the house and a hostel with bunk beds. There is a nice area for cooking and they heat the common area every night. Chickens roam the property as well as their 3 dogs. Mary said well behaved pets are welcome but be mindful that her dogs can be protective. Camping is 3,000 pp/pn and beds in the hostel are 7,000 without bedding or 9,000 with bedding. 24 hour hot showers and fast WiFi!
