Fantastic spot to park. Dogs even allowed on the beach. However we had to abandon it due to the swarms of flies. Not a whiff of a breeze to keep them away. Also the water sources were still off and wrapped up for winter. T-Mobile had 0 service there.
Report Check-InSpent the night in the Sleeping Bear National Lakeshore parking lot at Good Harbor Bay. Signs at the entrance say no camping, but nothing about overnight parking. We slept here in a converted sprinter van and had zero issues. There were several other cars who stayed late and two more that spent the night. It is a popular beach for swimming and watching the sunset. Because it is a National Lakeshore there is a fee ($25 per vehicle for 1-7 days), but you can also use any inter-agency pass for free. Drinking fountain, foot rinse, and pit toilets available.
Report Check-InBeen car camping here for years now. Just respect the place and nobody will notice cause most people stay super late anyway. Great place to enjoy the dunes and get some good star gazing in. Also has some of the best sunsets ever. also bathrooms
