Marvellous spot on a small pebble beach. Well off the road, level, plenty of bush for shade & wind shelter. We loved it here, if we didn't need to be in Puerto Montt the next day, we would have stayed here a few days. A few locals came down for a swim during the day, but by evening we had the place to ourselves. A very peaceful and scenic spot. No facilities. Free.
Note: the only way to get to this lakeshore is from the north; turn off the T39 main road at the village of Nancul. The road shown on some maps coming around the lake from the south/west side does not come through past the river inlet.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Spent 2 quiet nights, only an Sunday Morning fisherman are coming 3G Claro
Report Check-InWe arrived around 6pm and no one around until 7:30pm. Than a local family arrived and went fishing till sunset (music but not so loud). The small road is close, but after sunset there’s no or not a lot of traffic anymore. We didn’t hear anything at night except the waves from the lake. Very quiet and relaxing place to stay with beautiful views from different perspectives. We leveled our small campervan with some rocks on the parking.
Report Check-InCould get down the foot path to the „public beach“ by motorbike and had a beautiful space in the shade. Great view, just a few locals for swimming and fishing.
Report Check-InNice lake spot. Plenty of room for a few vehicles. We stayed up on the main part under the trees at the end. A few locals came to fish but didn’t mind us. Picked up a whole bag of trash and glass from beer bottles
Report Check-InPerfect spot next to the water. Unfortunately a lot of waste again
Report Check-InGorgeous spot. Very quiet, just a few fisherman in the early morning. Beautiful views and easy to find.
Report Check-Ingreat spot! overlander friendly, stayed 2 nights. some friendly locals around, not noisy
Report Check-InLugar se puede estacionar cerca de la playa, si vienen en vehículo. La playa hay muchos arboles para poder acampar y protegerse del viento.
Report Check-InNice spot! At the edge of the lake, quiet and hidden from the small road. A few people during the day, no one at night. Lake water with a pleasant temperature. There are about 3km of easy track to get there, accessible for any type of vehicle.
Report Check-InVery nice Place! but lots of poeples at the Day. But if you can get the place in the Corner behind and put your Camper to Cover from the other Poeples....you will have a very nice Privat Place wit Shadow and good wind protection! Thanks for sharing. Enjoy
Report Check-InGood location to stay overnight. Quiet after sunset. Nice swimming in the lake.
Report Check-InBeautiful spot! Can recommend! Enough space for everyone and lovely views. Shade from trees and a nice breeze.
Report Check-InGood spot! Quiet, nobody, beautiful view, flat, beach, signal Engel 3G... everything that we need to enjoy!
Report Check-InIt is a nice spot (for not more than 3 vehicles) BUT many rats in the bushes that will check out everything left outside overnight including your vehicle. So actually not so nice. Also quite some garbage around...
Report Check-InWe stayed on the parking lot with two other overlanders. With 4x4 you could get directly to the beach. We had a quiet night.
Report Check-InVery nice beach, we camped in the far corner of it, 4wd might be needed if driving on the pebble, very quiet at night. It was nice to find a place after seeing everything fenced around the lakes.
Report Check-InGood place with nice view, bit of traffic through the night but ok. During the day locals for swimming, in the night only one other overlander. If you camp not direct at waterfront you could find a protected place. We camped at the shore (rooftop) - might be rough with strong winds. Clear water in the lake, not to cold for swimming. Firepits.
Report Check-InGreat spot! Beautiful beach with nice views. Lots of locals in high season, but they all left after sunset! One Chilean couple was camping on the beach (they are there every year!). We parked our rooftoptent in the parking lot where there is some wind protection. Road is very quiet at night.
Report Check-InOn a weekend day in high season there is no possibility to stay with a Motorhome. We found a good alternative at Rio San Pedro not far away, there are much more places and a better street to go there.
Report Check-InLovely spot! Don't hesitate to come even in high season. I spent a very warm friday afternoon and the whole day saturday in february and there were only a few families around. Some boats and kayaks in the lake, but still very quiet and lovely. Good 3G data signal from Entel.
Report Check-InWe stayed for 2 nights in this very nice spot. They weren’t so many people. First day three cars (at night only another one) and the second day two cars for a short time.
You can swim in the lake and just enjoy the landscape :)
According to other comments, very nice and quiet place (and indeed quiet small). Local people were also nice. It s a shame to find toilet paper around this beautifull area!
Report Check-InBeautiful spot for a few nights. Entrance is narrow enough but we have a big rig and fit in perfect. We made a fire pit and there was some wood around. There is a fast flowing river right beside you so unlimited water. Fishing is good also. Really really good spot and would recommend. Even got decent connection on phone for whatsapp/internet!!
Report Check-InA very nice spot! I'm glad we were here in low season, nobody else here. We agree with the previous comment of "Facebook", I wouldn't try this spot in high season, especially during weekends. It's a very small beach and very little place to park.
Report Check-InAwesome and peaceful spot, especially at the end of the season. The blackberries are past now, but we collected bags of sweet apples down the beach!
Report Check-InBeautiful and great spot for his landscape and his tranquility, thank you ! Different possibility to stay, be careful with the gravels at the end of the beach in your right, our van has some difficulty for get out, places for fire
Report Check-InFrom Nancul, easy to find. We were in the high season but during the week. Not to busy, few cars until the sunset and then we were alone :) very quiet place. The beach is not so small and the water of the lake is clean. some places on the beach to make asado. We recommend
Report Check-InWe drove up here and there were so many local cars we couldn't even get down the road. We went all the way the end of the road but it just dead ends at someone's house. We had to ask them to let us turn around so don't go down that road. It's a long way to come if you can't get a spot so make sure you come during the week and away from holidays. Beach is small.
Report Check-Inthis place is so so gorgeous, you really feel alone right in front of the vast lake. it was way too cold to swim this time of year but the water looks temptingly clear. we feel lucky to have found it.
