Flint Ridge camp | Wild Camping

Spent two nights here with no problems. Another van lifer stayed here two nights as well. Only other vehicles were for the walking only camp site .04 miles up a trail.

Very clean with only dog crap in a few spots. No services but you get 3-4 bars on Verizon and AT&T.

Views are perfect when the weather participates with views clear enough to see Crescent City to the north.

Cars traveling through to include Cal Fire that has a large facility up the road stopped by 6:45 pm until 9-10 am.

I saw one of the local black bears, as I was driving in, keep your camp bear safe.

I stayed here for one night with my motorbike and tent. No one seemed bothered by me camping here. There's also a hike in campground 1/4 mile up the trail, you can get a same day online permit before 1pm. See attached photo with the URL.

This place is within the bounds of CA State Park, and therefore no camping is allowed here.

There is NO CAMPING allowed here. We were settled in for the night and were were approached by CA State Park Rangers to tell us that this is IN the state park and that no camping is allowed here. We didn’t know we were actually in the state park (we thought we were near it but not in it). They allowed us to stay the night since it was so late if we leave by 6am. They took our identifications and did background checks and recorded our information to share with the Rangers who would be coming by at around 6:15am on their rounds and expected us to be gone by then.

You can find this camp on google maps. It is a large pull off spot along Coastal Drive. I have a 4x4, but have seen several cars make it through this road no problem. Please note, it is a one way. Google may want to take you the north end route to get here. Use the south route. There are no amenities, but it’s a great view! I stayed here for 2 nights and no one bothered me. I was joined by a few others here and there, and there were ppl passing on the road, stopping to look at the view, etc, but otherwise, it was a very nice and quiet spot. There is a very steep trail that goes straight to the beach for those looking for an adventure. Also, I have straight talk wireless and I had full bars here, which has been hard for me to find. I wouldn’t necessarily bring a big rig. A large RV may have trouble. I haven’t seen any come through here. A truck with a trailer would be do fine.
