CLOSED. Part of the land trust for the church ruins across the road and they are shifting it to day use only. A great spot to visit, but respect the locals with no overnight stays!

Report Check-In

my first night on the road and this was lovely. Right across from the ruins, look for the sign in the pictures and you can't miss it. no bathrooms on either side, and the ruins are very worth a walk through.

Report Check-In

Large, open grassy space with some shade. Came on a Friday at 6:30 and left the next morning at 10:30 and saw no one. There’s no Porta potties but there’s good service and room for the dog to run around. Great spot! Keep it clean!

Report Check-In

HUGE grassy, shady area for multiple rigs. There is a type of gate but it doesn't appear to be in use.

Report Check-In

Beautiful, serene spot to stay overnight. Easy to find and well maintained.

Didn't stay over as arrived early in day. Super spot. Sun and shade. Water pump on left through entrance to church.

Report Check-In

Very Nice spot. We arrived at 6:00 PM, there were some visitors for the church ruins, but everybody left at 7:30 PM.

Report Check-In

Nice, quiet. Small, unpaved parking lot in the woods. Church ruins across the road.

reat for the dog.

we loved this spot! it's quiet, flat and wide open. not to many people around other then a few visitors to the church across the street. The church was a cool sight to take in as well.
we arrived around 5pm and left around 12pm the next day. no one bothered us.

A beautiful spot, huge grass and gravel level parking. I was the only one here. No porta potties the picnic tables here, they may be across the street at the ruins of the old church, which I have not yet investigated.

Report Check-In

Great spot right off the road across from the ruins, but surprisingly quiet. Parked in the back left corner and was the only one for the evening. Would absolutely stay again and recommend for anyone even large trailers.

Report Check-In

This is a quiet spot across the street from church ruins. There is light traffic noise and the parking lot gets busy during the day. Recommended for more stealthy vehicles or late arrival/early departure. Lots of soft grass for a dog.

Verizon speed: 8.88 Mbps

Neat spot, stayed in my 1986 Vixen with the kids on our way north. Felt safe and even was able to take some work calls and a web conference call at the picnic tables by the church ruins. What a great morning at the office !

Report Check-In

Very nice spot. Stayed in rooftop tent for a few days. Very safe. Little road noise. Saw one teardrop camper on the first day. Cars frequent for parking since right across from ruins but not a biggie. T-Mobile and Verizon service is good. 10 mins away from gas station

Report Check-In

Beautiful little wide open spot used as parking when people come to see the Sheldon Church Ruins across the street.
There is 2-3 bars Verizon & 1 bar T-Mobile.
I camped in my self contained van for 4 nights. No one bothered me.
There are Porta potties on the premise. They are clean, stocked & don’t have a strong Oder. There’s enough room to park camp and be out of the way for people coming to visit the ruins. A cop came by (idk for me) but didn’t say anything.
Good for a few nights and days of work.

Spent one night in my 33' travel trailer with no problems. 1 other vehicle here when we arrived in the evening and everything was quiet. Small amount of road noise but it pretty minimal.

Report Check-In

It’s creepy and awesome at the same time! The bugs are chirping and we’re tucked in underneath a huge tree. Goodnight!

Report Check-In

Great place, lots of room, quiet. The ruins are very nice to visit.

Report Check-In

Really nice spot, it was a bit waterlogged in the center of the clearing from some recent rain but I just parked off to the side under the trees. Seems like the local kids might use it as a bit of a party spot judging by the amount of trash and beer cans tossed in the bushes, so I picked up as much as I could before leaving.

Report Check-In

Beautiful spot and just as described. Lots of cars came through over the two nights of the weekend we stayed, but only one other stayed overnight. Got very quiet at night and not buggy this time of year! Only saw a couple mosquitoes both nights.

Report Check-In

The church is beautiful and on a gorgeous plot! The parking lot is directly across the street and is definitely quite large. We parked on the right hand side byt the left side is more tucked away. You could tell by the bit of trash people must go there to party sometimes. But, all in all we had a quiet pleasant stay for the one evening we were there!

Report Check-In

stayed here 1 night in our 24 ft rv! great spot. had no problem parking, the ground is pretty even and hard. we parked towards the back of the lot.

pros: super quiet at night! road wasn't too loud at all. traffic slows down at night. we heard wolves at night.

cons: buggy!

overall it's such a beautiful area and feels very secluded!

Found the correct spot, this is 6 miles away. I updated the location, hopefully it corrects. The lot is directly across from the old church ruins.
