Stayed here for 6 days, awesome spot!

We had site 1, all sites were normally taken (honestly have no idea how we managed to get this one)

Lots of cows, lots of wood to scavenge for

We got rain the night before we left, so someone got a free pre-made ready to light campfire

Bring an axe!

Report Check-In

Stayed here for a couple of nights. Quiet, some shade and a cool breeze blowing at all times.

Report Check-In

Wide open space next to cow pond. Lots of poop all over the place. Cows and babies came to visit in the morning!! Not afraid of people either.

Report Check-In

Beautiful location with large designated sites. I stayed at site 5 & on the 2nd night I heard critters trying to get up under the van. I moved to spot 2 the following day & heard critters under the van again that night so I moved on...just something to be aware of. The historic farm is nice to visit & there is a faucet with potable water near the vault toilets. TMobile was really spotty in this area.

Report Check-In

Stayed 3 nights mid week, end of November. 7 huge designated sites in the campground and lots of other sites around the area. Beautiful views of distant Mntn ranges all round. Was quite windy the entire time we were here and temps around freezing overnight. Very quiet tho apparently it was very busy the previous weekend with ATV campers. This is grassland area. Tho it is mowed back quite a ways and the cleared sites are very large, our friends had mice in their trailer. So beware of that.

come in off 83. it's a better road. take empire ranch road to 900. turn into the park several spots well maintained and far enough apart to feel alone.

the views are spectacular 360 degrees. I'm not sure I'd want to be here in Arizona Summer no trees.

Sonata is at 83 and 82 has gas, propane, dollar general and a few eating places.

Report Check-In

nice place, could park 3 or 4 rigs easily. a fire pit in the center, but surrounded by grass and weeds will need cleared out before using. beautiful 360 views.

past other spots came in from highway 82. well maintained road. cows so take it slow and they move out of road.

looking forward to exploring the area, short drive to Tombstone, Bisbee, Kartchner Caverns and several other places.

if the clouds clear out should be some stars

Another sweet BLM site. Sites are spread far apart. Seven designated sites, here, at the Cieneguita ‘Campground’ but many more throughout the area. Please do not randomly park or tent in the grasslands per the rangers request. There are many cleared sites throughout the BLM.

Only Big sky, grasslands, random trees, mountains, roaming cows, and makeshift, rock fire pits. Little protection from wind on the plains. Millions of stars at night. Huge full moons that last all night. Pack it out, please. This place is immaculate.

Disregard the red iOverlander warning about not verifying if camping here is permitted. I have included photos of the 14 day camping allowance. It is permitted. No worries. Camp on!

Water is available 2.5 miles up the road at the Ranch. Bring more food than you think you will need. You may want to stay longer.

This area is beautiful. All the spots were taken when we arrived, but we found a single spot a little further down the road to the left. GORGEOUS! We didn't hear coyotes in the evening, but one did cross the field behind us in the early morning. sunsets and rises are spectacular. There is a drone that is flying today. Border patrol active in the area.

Report Check-In

Awesome spot and very unique, cool grasslands. Quite and felt safe. You can see other campers but they are not close at all. Empire Ranch is very close and has potable water for free.

Very cool place. We spent New Years here. it rained the first night then cleaned up. it did drop to *15 at night but during the day the temps rose to 60*+. There are 7 camps with fire rings that are fairly spread apart. Quite a bit of traffic and other campers. We took a walk along the roads and up a dried river bed one day. We came face to face with a cow and saw a few hawks. lots of other animal tracks here and there. Over all a great Boondocking place if you're not looking for somewhere that's super private.

Report Check-In

Highly recommend this spot. Stayed at these coordinates, but there were other options in the area as well. Free, clean, cell service, water nearby and my dogs loved it.

Report Check-In

Beautiful spacious camp spots near Empire Ranch historic site which has clean fresh well water

Report Check-In

Easy road to drive in. Designated campsites, easy to find.

Report Check-In

Nice views, very quiet, LTE was good, early May was warm and windy. Not bad for being out and about during the day (wine tasting) but trying to work remotely a couple days was difficult in our van due to wind/heat combo. Looking forward to returning in November!

Report Check-In

Beautiful sunset and amazing stars!
Well-maintained road. Fire pits.

Report Check-In

Lovely spot with beautiful views of mountains and surround ranch land. Road in was a breeze and the spots are spacious. There was at least 10 other campers here over the weekend, but we felt like we had a lot of privacy. No amenities aside from fire rings and good cell service on ATT. Cows walked through our spot most days.

Report Check-In

great spot, only a bit over 1 mile of dirt road, if you are coming from Empire Ranch Rd and Hwy 83. was busy over the weekend (Thurs - Sunday) and it is easier/more likely to get a spot earlier in the week, good Verizon signal for work or streaming, water is available at the vault restrooms by the Ranch HQ, we have been hiking through the area thank to the map we got at the visitor center behind the Ranch HQ (not sure on their hours, but I know they are open on Saturday for their 11 am tour). the other place to get the map is at the BLM offices in Tucson. We have seen and heard coyotes and lots of cattle. There are a lot of cut down mesquite trees (not the prettiest sight), but the wood is free for use as fire wood (bring a good saw!). max stay is 14 days

Report Check-In

Just as described. Road is good, great free BLM camping. Primitive, No services, please pack trash out

Report Check-In

Super quiet, easy to get to. One of the better dirt roads I've traveled recently. Other campers near but super chill.

Report Check-In

Awesome deals easy to get to Road in is in good condition

Report Check-In

Awesome views easy access plenty of room

Report Check-In

Nice place. No border control visits. We stayed for 2 nights.

Report Check-In

Free and primitive. Was a nice campsite for the night but we did have Border patrol talk to us twice.

Report Check-In

Peaceful free wild camping in the dry prairie grass. This is an official free BLM camping area with signs and cleared out camp spots. Clean (no trash). Each camp spot has a fire ring although pay attention to fire danger as the grass around is very dry. There are a few trees, but they have thorns. Very quiet with exception of some singing coyotes. Great for dogs. Lots of freedom. I had 2 bars 4G AT&T service most the time.

Report Check-In

'future campground' sign at front. May be developed at some point. Currently free w/ no services.
Empty when we were here. Coyotes howl through the night.
