Description
This is a lake, series of lagoons and camping/restaurant/diving school about 15min drive off of Mex70 just outside Rio Verde. Clean facilities and a restaurant/bar although we did not try the latter. Camping costs 70mxn/tent/night, although since we did not camp here no idea if you also have to pay per person entry :
- adults price (from 10 years old up) 100 pesos
- kids (less than 10) 50 pesos
- elders 50 pesos
nice place to go swimming, but definitely avoid holidays and weekends.

REALLY nice swimming although I can see this place being quite loud/crowded at popular times. Big rigs would need to hang out in the parking lot, then walk in to swimming/facilities. No pets allowed inside park- okay in parking lot.
IMPORTANT : note that the Media Luna is close on Monday. Consequently the parking close sunday night, you cannot sleep there on Sunday Monday.

Report Check-InArrived on a Tuesday, the gate was closed as the Laguna is now closed on Thursdays. Came back on Wednesday and it is 2 for 1, so a good deal.

It’s impossible to access the small lake in your vehicle….period. You HAVE to walk in from the parking lot and it is locked up tight after 6 pm. We arrived after 6 so just spent the night outside the gates right along the irrigation canal. You can see on the iOverlander map where the road ends, crosses the bridge then runs up the other side of the canal. We actually parked where the bridge crosses over and not where it’ pinned. It was a very hot evening so we swam in the clear water of the canal just like all the locals were doing. We had a super quiet night as it’s at the end of the road so zero traffic until 7:45 am when a huge tour bus showed up.
It IS possible to camp in the parking lot of Media Luna overnight for 150 pesos and have access to water, and a port a pottie but only if you get there before closing time then you are locked in for the night.
It is a beautiful place for a swim especially if you walk through the park right to the small deep lake. Most of the locals just swim in the shallower rivers closer to the restaurants. The showers and bathrooms are now free even though the signs are still up listing prices.
I hope this clears up the parking issue for others as we made several attempts to drive to this pin which is impossible.
Esta abierto el lugar, solo que no están permitiendo acampar, tienes que rentar cabañas y están caras. No nos quedamos así que nos tuvimos que quedar en otro camping llamado rincón de luna.

They couldn’t tell us when it’s going to re-open. Check with some locals at the beginning of the road if you want to avoid 5km dirt road
We tryed to get in Sunsay afternoon but they even didn't let us in for parking. Entry is 100 peso per person. An unfriendly security guy talked with us and advised that we only can park outside and we have to leave after 3pm. Camping is not possible at the moment. That was the most unfriendly welcome we had in home Mexico. We left without seeinf the place.
Report Check-InMedia Luna Aqua Park is currently open, 8 am-6pm. However, it is not possible to spend the night in the parking lot. The access from the MEX 70 along the canal is problem-free, also for BIgRigs. Nice warm (27-30 °) lagoon to swim in - worth a visit!
Report Check-InWell I'm here now and while the day time facilities are open, they turned me around saying the Campground facilities were closed due to Covid. Bummer to learn that after 1.5 hour of driving and having planned the past few days so I could be here on Tuesday evening.

What a lovely place to park your motorhome for the night and have fun in this river.
In the week there isn't a lot of people here.
When I see the size of the parking I think the week end is crazy here!!!
We park our 26 ' without problem for 2 nights here and enjoy this wonderful river (28°) with our children.
Price is 40 for adults (more than 10 years) and 20 for children.
The night is free and the place is quiet and seems safe.

This place is huge, let yourself at least 3hour or you can spend whole day here. There are food vendors inside, toilet and showers 5pesos. Possible rent all kind of water gear, snorkels, life jackets 11
Stayed one night in the parking lot it was quiet and very safe. Please feed stray dogs in the parking lot if stay there, they are very friendly!
Great place for swimming and camping. Beautifully colored water at the perfect temp. 40p per person to enter and swim. We asked if we could keep our van in the lot overnight and they assured us that it was secure and that the gate is closed at 10 and opens again at 6am. This was on a Monday night. We stayed in our van for no extra fee. All was good.

We had a very good day to swim in the temperate water in the river and stayed for the night, parked on the parking with a 24 feet. If you want to avoid the unsaved road to arrive on site, go through El Jabali. Entrance of the park 40 pesos / person, parking and free night.

Report Check-InFree boondocking at the parking area for Media Luna. No facilities. Good camping spot if you want to visit Media Luna. Note that when we visited, the park closed every Tuesday for maintenance. We arrived on a Monday afternoon and were asked to leave that night, since the park was going to be closed on Tuesday (and we would be locked in with our RV). However, we asked nicely and were allowed to stay. We left early on Tuesday as the workers arrived and opened the gate.

Report Check-InStayed one night in the parking lot with our 21ft motorhome. If you follow the signs from the highway, all of the road is paved until the entrance. Felt safe and had a quiet night. Nobody asked for a fee. Great swim in the warm river and lake. The surrounding area is muddy and a bit run down. Dogs are ok on the (huge) parking lot.
Report Check-InCampsite in a beautiful lagoon, 40mxn per person plus 70mxn camping fee per tent. Showers/bathrooms/food/beer inside, firepits and grill areas inside as well. Stayed here one night, it was packed but still got a good spot.

Nice park with several creeks and natural pools with warm water to swim in, as well as the big Media Luna lagoon which is deeper. Entrance is still 40 pesos/day. Toilets and cold showers inside.
Not many places to sit down, so you might want to bring your own chairs.
Safe and quiet at night - no problems.
we sleep one night in the parking and use the fire pit in the park... amazing nice day with my kids in the hot lagon...dont forget your snorkel gear
Report Check-InGreat place to relax, water temperature is 28 C. Media Luna is a half moon shape lake (50m deep), fed by an natural spring with beautiful clear warm water. Besides the lake there are several natural canals to swim in where it is from 1.60 - 2 m deep.
We stayed five nights for free on the quiet parkinglot with trees. They allowed us to dump in their waste water system (a briked cube/hill on the parking lot)
Park closed on Tuesday during low season, but you can still park and swim in the canal who is coming out of the park.
Park admission still 40 pesos.
Warm water swim park... the road coming in is next to a canal..paved road and then dirt road. Not a fun experience coming into park!! We arrived on a Sunday .. lots of people. Found owner and son spoke English. Cost $100 peso .
Report Check-InFollowed a mix of dirt and paved road to reach the park. Huge parking lot which is free. Pay 40 peso/person to enter the park. Water is lovely and clear and not cold. plenty of space to picnic in shade. We did not camp but looks possible in the car park or pay the $70th camp inside the park.

Report Check-InSeveral roads get here. One is paved two are dirt. This mark is inside the park, follow the signs to get to parking lot. We paid to enter park (40p) per person. Parked overnight in back corner of parking lot (with dogs) and no one collected fees or spoke to us. An RV (5th wheel) nearby had been parked there 5 nights with no fees. Porta potties in parking lot are clean. Baños and showers inside park only. No hookups in parking lot. Can pay to camp inside with tent. (70p)

- camping with camper on the parking lot (a hugeeeeee parking lot). This is what we did.
Their are fire pits, and you can even go on the thermal water just facing the trailer. This is what we did.
It was free. Arrived here 4 days ago, and will stay a little bit longer.
Such a nice place.but... avoid it during weekend ! Especially Sunday and holidays ! Crowded !
