A restaurant north of San Jose where we were able to camp for free for a night. In return, we ate breakfast at the restaurant the next morning. Views here are stunning! Owners are incredibly friendly.

Stayed here for a night. Moises the owner brother loves to overland. He was very accommodating. He made sure bathroom were open for the night. A great spot to stay at night. No pressure to buy anything.

What a great place to stay before seeing ( or not seeing due to clouds) the Poas Volcano. It’s a MUCH better option than any of the spots mentioned closer to the park.
We stayed 2 nights and had just one meal at the restaurant which was delicious . No pressure from the owner to eat there at all but why not?!
The owner is an overlander wannabe so he’s thrilled to host travellers. We loved it

Nous avons passé deux nuits ici, très calme,, beaucoup de vent, le décor est magnifique, les propriétaires très sympa. Accès aux toilettes et à l'eau. Accès facile pour le volcan poas.

We spent two nights here, very quiet, Wendy, the decor is magnificent, the owners very friendly. Access to toilets and water. Easy access to the poas volcano.

Nice place to stay on grassy field near the restaurant. Free but we took our
tasty breakfast there. The resto closes at 05.00 pm. Fast internet and restrooms during opening hours,
friendly owner. Very quiet. Good starting point to visit Volcano Poas and La Pax Waterfall Gardens.

Very nice host, we stayed for 1 night for free and took our breakfast there (very good). The weather was not that nice for the period (a bit cold and windy) but we could use the bathroom when the restaurant was open. Toilets and wifi available all time.

Restaurant inside lot, fast free internet spot, friendly restaurant family.

Report Check-In

Everything is as previously stated, a warm family welcome, big portions of traditional Costa Rican food, wifi, great views, outdoor toilet for easy access. Just note that as of today the national park is still closed due to potential volcanic activity and there is no short term expectation of it opening.

Arnoldo did run to wellcome us as sson as we arrived, you really appreciate this, when it is dark, raining and windy. We had a good breakfast in the morning, we did not pay for the campground. Super place that we recommend

Unbelievable friendly hosts!!
They gave us a nice place to stay in the backyard and
charched nothing!
We injoyed the real good meal
at their restaurant.
You should not miss this place even if the NP Poás is closed! The area is worth seeing and there are many paths to walk.

Really great place! We are in a roof top and I felt super safe and comfortable staying there. Great family! The father told us he allows and likes when people stay at their property because he doesn't want them to park somewhere unsafe :) Super nice! He said it was all free but we thought it appropriate to eat in their restaurant. And the food was really good too! Huge portions!

The property is big and there's a flat area where overlanders tend to camp. You get access to toilets and a beautiful view over the valley below. And we also managed to connect to an unsecured wi-fi, bonus! In the morning it took us about 20 minutes to drive to the Poas park. Super cool overall, five stars!

We slept in front of the restaurant, which was closed when we arrived (they close at 5pm). Got to know Kevin later. Incredibly friendly. No problem to sleep here! Restrooms available through the night. One of the best breakfasts we had so far in CR. Tell Kevin you found him through the app. He likes it! "Ohh I'm famous on the internet" haha cool guy

Owners are incredibly friendly. The owners had us camp in their front yard, we were the first and you need to make they are open to it. Kevin speaks English.
