MODERATOR NOTE: Place removed because camping is illegal here. Signs posted and enforced
Large, free parking lot at the Anacortes Marina. Depending on where you park the signs say 72 hr or 10 day parking maximum, but no signs prohibited camping. We stayed the night with several other obvious rigs and no one seemed to have an issue. There are signs prohibiting RV and trailer parking so best suited for smaller vehicles. The Cape Sante “campground” is near this location and is basically a parking lot, but for $22 and no amenities we chose to try this free option. Credit card operated showers nearby. Good cell service on ATT.

You CANNOT sleep in a vehicle or RV in this parking lot. I got the dreaded knock around midnight. I pulled in around sunset, and went to bed around 9. No lights on, no noise, no trash or anything set up outside.. Just a warning. He did tell me I could move to the street that borders the lot, where there are signs that say "No Trailers."
