Latest Check-Ins

The best camping we stayed until now. The place is calm and peaceful, lots of space and for free. The bathroom and space to cook are great.

Report Check-In

Parked outside the main entrance gate without asking any's permission. There was another RTT camper camping. No one asked nor.I asked for the fee. Great place as other have indicated. Banos access 24/7. To use the hot springs they charge $15/person

Report Check-In

even better than we read: Camping is for free, they tell on their Website. Nobody asked for any money, so better don't either. We paid for the thermales, very nice and empty on weekdays. big recommendation.

Report Check-In

Cheap campsite with clean toilets and showers. We didn’t find this cheap in another place (2000col/pp). The hot springs are nice too, full of locals in the weekend.
Our rooftop tent didn’t fit under the shelter.

Report Check-In

cheap Campsite, with Power toilets, shower, Power supply, Carport for smaller rooftop tent (height about 2,8m). 2000 colones/PP- 5000 colones for the hotsprings. At the second day we could enter the hotsprings in the evening for free

Report Check-In

Flat covered parking spots right outside the gate next to showers and restrooms. We were the only ones camping there on a Thursday night. Nice facilities and great to visit the hot springs and walk back to the camper van in the evening.

Report Check-In

Stayed here 3 nights. $2000 CRC/pp. Sink has hose thread for easy hookup if you need to top up your water. It’s potable. We fit our 2.8m tall Ford Transit van juuust under the covered parking so we could plug in and charge our batteries, too. Shower is great. Nice little spot to get some work done. All three days we were there, they had guys blowing leaves. Other than that, it was generally pretty quiet. Everyone very friendly.

Report Check-In

Amazing hot springs, very large with lots of pools to soak in. Camp ground outside of gate is very nice. 4 covered parking spaces, but vehicles with rooftop tent will take up 2 spots. We had no issues with space as we were the only campers here from Monday to Thursday. 6am staff like to park under covered area as well, so you might have to wait for a space to open. One electrical plug with 2 outlets in covered parking area and several more in covered communal cook area. Very safe, secure location. Bathrooms with cold showers are nice and cleaned daily. 2000c pp/pd and 5000c pp/pd for hotsprings, very well worth it. Check our YouTube channel for video review.

Report Check-In

Small update on our stay: there is wifi at the entrance. If you park next to the toilet building you’ll have a bar at least. Toilets are cleaned at 05:30 in the morning and we got free entry to the hot springs due low season (according the guard). Or because we gave him a beer. ;)

Report Check-In

Nice place which found via iO. Got here today, got the place all for ourself. You have a few spaces (+- 5) which are flat for 4x4. Clean, but heavily outdated, shower and toilet. Paid 4000col for 2 persons one night. Perfect lookout on the volcano.

Report Check-In

Nice camping aera to park. Clean toilets and showers. 2000 CpP overnight. 5000 CpP for the thermals.

Report Check-In

Nice place to spend the day/night. We enjoyed the pools all afternoon (lots of different temps) and then parked overnight at the flat space outside the gate. 6000 per person for swimming and 2000 per person for camping. We plugged in and filled out water tanks. Decent wifi but it was better inside the gate, closer to the pools. Showers are cold, which is odd since they have an unlimited source of hot water. 🤷🏽 Very quiet at night.

Report Check-In

a great camping area with minimal shade but lots of spaces to spread out. bathroom and kitchen facilities were good and
in a covered area. they charged 2,000 colones per person per night for camping and 6,000 colones per person to use the hot springs water park. we had a great time in the water park as we visited during the week and it was very quiet. we camped here for two nights. Great views of Arenal.

Report Check-In

Grand espace en herbe pour camper avec sanitaires pour 2000 colónes/ personne. Barbecue disponible sur place.
5000 colónes par personne pour accéder aux piscine et source eau chaude jusqu’à 21h

Report Check-In

Very ideal for when you’re visiting the hot springs nearby, facilities were good, had a male and females toilet and shower room, a bit on the used side but fine. Had mirrors which we weren’t use too.
Very cheap - think it was 4000 a night for two people.
One thing to note is the staff currently park next to it, meaning some noise around 10pm and 6am.

Report Check-In

Very good option for the very overpriced La Fortuna. Nothing fancy but does the job. We didn’t try the grass because of all the rain lately but good stay on the gravel part (also small motor parking for employees?)
Very clean bathrooms and area to do dishes or sit/bbq. Paid C2000 pp/pn. Didn’t use the pools (pay extra)

Report Check-In

Everything as described
the ground is not leveled but we sound the spot to the right of the building worked best.

Beautiful view of the volcano! Nice hotsprings! But avoid weekends, super crowded.

Report Check-In

Stayed here two nights. It’s a nice enough place. Room for a couple of vans. Nice overhang as well. Showers work but don’t expect anything great. Water and power which is great (definitely need an extension cord). Beautiful view of arenal if it’s not cloudy.

Report Check-In

Great campsite with basic but clean facilities, cold shower. Overlooking bottom of Arenal, cost 2000 colones each and we were not charged for hotsprings either evening.

Report Check-In

Clean and flat campgrounds just before the entrance to the spa. Beautiful view of the Arenal vulcano. We paid 2,000 colon each for 1 night with a 4x4 with rooftent.

Report Check-In

We stayed here for two nights and felt very safe. The bathroom is basic and clean.

Report Check-In

Nice flat grassy area. Pipe shower, bathroom. Nice area for cleaning your dishes. Large overhangs to keep off the sun or rain. Wifi, intermittently.
Two local couples tent camping and me in my van . Plenty of room for privacy.
Saturday about 8 local families came to camp. Everyone was very friendly.
Camping is 2,000 per person per night. The hot springs which is like a big water park is 5,000 calones per person. they have a senior discount for 65 and over. 4,000 calones for seniors.

Report Check-In

Got here after dark around 8 but the guard was still present. Parked under the camping shade next to another car and set our tent up. Paid 2000$ to camp and $9000 to enter the springs (per person). Guard let us go in for the last two hours that the thermals where open and let us in the next day without charging us double. Nice people. Wifi is strong in the pools, weak if non existent at the camping site, works okay at the camping bathrooms.

Report Check-In

Super endroit calme ou poser son van ou sa tante pour la nuit

5000 entrance to the hotsprings which are very nice. nice vulcano view. stayed here for three nights, also in the weekend with very friendly locals in the hotsprings and camping. greetings from holland

Report Check-In

Can confirm below prices still 2000C to camp pp but entrance to hot springs was only 5000C per person. Sunday night was super busy, went back Monday morning and had place to ourselves, much better. They let us back in on the same ‘day pass’ we purchased day before. Quiet nights sleep.

Report Check-In

Great spot to camp.
Covered camping (handy in rainy season) showers, electricity, BBQ, toilets, wifi. The lot.
All in good and clean condition!

Still 2000/p. Kids were free.
As it's low season and a weekday, our kids could swim for free as well.

Report Check-In

Nice and spacious place to camp overlooking the Arenal Volcano. It has a ranch with a sink, barbecue, toilet and shower. Price 2000 colones per person per night. There is water and electricity.

Lugar lindo y espacioso para acampar con vista al Volcán Arenal. Tiene un rancho con pila, parrilla servicio sanitario y ducha. Precio 2000 por persona por noche. Hay agua y electricidad.

Report Check-In

2000 Colones per person. Great Camping and Termales

Report Check-In

Easy, safe place to camp. We had a big truck camper and even in the rain made it in and out just fine. 2000 per person. Nice view of the volcano to wake up to. Water park seems cheesy, but i won’t complain for a nice worry free place to camp!

Report Check-In

The spot is an open field in front of the Therme Los Laureles entrance. It has water, trash cans, shower. We didn’t use the shower but the water seemed to be a moderate temperature. We paid 3,000 colones per person.

Report Check-In

We were not going to stay in La Fortuna, but found a great trail at lunchtime with lots of sloths and wanted to go back late afternoon to see more. Drove 10 minutes here to check and liked it so paid 4000 colones for two of us in a campervan. We were given wristbands to show we had paid then we could come and go as we please. Parked undercover, charged all our stuff, cooked and relaxed. Clean toilets and showers, dish washing sink, with soap and sponge, handwash in toilets. No wifi, but we have our own so all good.

Report Check-In

Great place to camp!
Clean toilets and shower. It is 2.000 colones per person to camp. They don't charge for kids.
To enter the Thermas it's 6000 p.p. ( and 3000 for kids older than 3 years).

Report Check-In

Nice place to camp, a little irregular for trailers or rvs but ok for tents, we were lucky to find a place for our skoolie were cars usually park, there's bathrooms, electricity (need extension cord) and clean water, friendly staff

Report Check-In

Good spot! 2 in 1!
Paid $10000 per night for camping and thermal park .Not bad!
You can enjoy thermal park and stay by.
No Wifi!
If you are alone does not feel safe, gate is open.
Very clean.

Report Check-In

Facilities were dirty. There were feces next to the men’s toilet on the floor and the ladies toilet was blocked. Shower heads were missing in both showers and only cold water. Access to the pools is nice but definitely not worth 10.000 Colones per person!

Report Check-In

We went there and ask the price for 2 persons and 2 bikes with our tent and they told us it was 10 000 colones per person with the entrance at the pool. We told them we didn't want to go to the pools and they reply it was the same price !! So just go 2 kilometers after to Hotel Loma Real & Hot Springs where you can stay in a QUIET place and same price for 2 nights!!!

Report Check-In

Asked how much per night, they said 10,000pp for camping, includes entrance to pools and hot springs, we did not stay. We asked if we could just stay the night w/o entrance fees and they said no, only with “package”.

Report Check-In

You can no longer just camp here you have to pay 10,000 colones per person to camp and it includes hot springs entry for two days. We laughed and left

Report Check-In

Open field next to a hotel with hot springs. We were charged 10,000 colones per person to camp for the night which allowed us access to the hot springs that night until 9 pm and also the following day. Field was uneven but we were the only ones there so we were able to find a good spot. Nice bathrooms and wash basin there for campers, very quiet. Beautiful view of the mountain during the day

Report Check-In

Nice, clean place. Nice swimming pools, hot and cold and thermal.
We paid 10.000 for camping and entrance per persoon

Report Check-In

Good facilities, but restaurant and soda were closed in the evening, so the receptionist helped us to order pizza.

Report Check-In

big grass patch, fairly uneven, toilets, water, wifi and electricity! 2000 and a reduced 4000 entrance for the water park! nice

Report Check-In

Still a lovely easy place to camp. 4x4 with rooftop tent and we found a flat spot fairly easily but it was quiet. Facilities still clean and great. Nothing walking distance for food and we did get bitten quite a lot at dusk but then we should have been more sensible with the bug spray!! Excellent view of the volcano.

Report Check-In

Great place to camp even if you don’t access the pools. There is WiFi and the facilities are very clean. Not completely leveled but grassy and nice view to the volcano. Price is very cheap for Costa Rica standards. Pet friendly.

Report Check-In

Nice camping spot outside of the pool/hot springs area. Not really flat but pretty easy to find a decent spot. Toilet and showers are clean and the pool and hot springs are great to relax! The best thing however was the wonderful view of the volcano!

Report Check-In

Nice field to stop. Quite hard to find a flat spot, but managed 2 times.
Commodities are cleaned every day.
Pools are great !

Report Check-In

Enjoyed our stay here and especially covered area we parked our van under since it rained a lot. The area with nice sink, showers, toilets also covered and clean.
The hot springs were a blast. Only negative is it’s not really close enough to anything to walk but La Fortuna has everything (at a price—expensive place).
It’s easy to pull into and huge grassy area.

Report Check-In

Stayed here for 2 nights, paid the entrance fees for camping and the hot springs once - they give you wristbands which you can show to get in and out. Campsite has plugs, showers, toilets and covered area.

Great volcano views and hot springs are really nice. Close by for National Park. Would highly recommend

Report Check-In

Price is still 2000 colones pp and the pool is 4000 colones pp if you are camping.
Facilities are super clean, showers are cold, wifi craps out but when connected is good. Sink to do the dishes, a small bbq and you can plug in to charge your car. The night was very quiet. And you have an amazing view of Arenal. We loved this place :-)

Report Check-In

perfect place for stay many night , clean shower, wc , and very quiet place.
the thermal pool is very beautifull and cheap.....for a Costa Rica place 😁

Report Check-In

Wonderful place! Big area for camping of any size. This is a water park with wonderful thermal spas. Huge swimming pools with water slide and tons of picnic options! There is a fee of $2,000 colones for camp per person and $6,000 per person for the hot springs and pools, a must!! and Right at the front of the volcano. Just minutes outside of La Fortuna Heading North it will be on your right, Looks like the opening to a resort so follow your coordinates.

Report Check-In

Pay for the camping at the entrance to the hot springs area. Good flat area for camping with showers, toilets, and electrical hook up. Also had large sinks to wash your stuff. Got a little busier later, but not bad. Defiantly a drive into town, but there is so much to do in the area.

Report Check-In

now 6000 colones pp for enterig the hot springs, even if you are camping there

Report Check-In

Nice campground at the en of la Fortuna on the right. shower, toilets and power available.

Price is 2,000C PP for camping and 6,000C PP for access to the hot and cold pools. The grassy area is large but a challenge to level. Cold showers, clean bathrooms, large dishwashing sink, and grill. The view of Volcan Arenal is stunning. Very quiet at night.

Report Check-In

Great place for camping, or parking a rig. Right outside the gate of the thermal pools compound. Clean bathrooms and showers. Only drawback is that the single power outlet may be a bit far if you are not next to the building. 2,000 Colones per person.
The thermal pools at 4,000 Colones pp were very welcome after spending 2 weeks on the beaches. Our feet are now almost normal. Highly recommended.

Report Check-In

Has camping for $3.50 pp for tent and also possibility for car camping.
Has facilities to shower and flush toilettes.

Report Check-In

Very nice place, with good shelter when it rains, Wifi works very well. Clean, new bathrooms,

Report Check-In

Un buen lugar para parqueo! Energía eléctrica y wifi un poco lento pero bueno, el costo 2000 cólones, el costo por las termales es 4000 y es independiente al camping

Report Check-In

what an absolute gem of a spot! the views from this campsite are stunning - right at the base of a huge volcano. there are clean bathrooms with toilets and showers and a wash up station with electricity plug in available. we didn't use the hot springs here but we used the ones across the road which were gorgeous. there is ziplines across the road at the tourist information with hot springs included in the tour - loved it! plenty of information about the campsite and hotsprings on their website too

Report Check-In

Nice grassy camping area outside the gates to hot springs. Restrooms with cold showers, sink for dishes, electric (with extension cord). 2000/pp for camping only entrance to hot springs is another 4000/pp but we visited the free hot springs before arriving so we did not enter. Wifi is available but was not working while we were here.

Report Check-In

Designated camping area to the left before the gate on grassy area (next to cows on the other side of the fence). It's outside the gate, but we felt very safe (there probably is a security guard at night at the thermen, we didn't see anyone). Stayed 2 nights, wifi could reach our van. Toilets and showers (1 of each, his and hers) are clean (with toilet seat and TP). In the morning Ticos arrived early by bus or car to line up in front of the gate, before the thermen open at 9 pm. Arrivals use the bathrooms after a long drive, but early in the morning the facilities are cleaned. Colones 4.000 for 2 persons + van. We filled up the water tank (through filter) at the fosset in front of the ablutions building. Did not visit the Thermen.

Report Check-In

I've stayed here 5 times now. It's a great spot. Volcano view, Clean toilets, cold clean showers, flat spot on grass for tents or trucks, WIFI, electricity. Close-ish to Fortuna and to hot river... 2000 colones per person. It's a great deal.

Report Check-In

wanted to camp here. still 2000c/pp but dogs are not allowed. even not outside in the camping area

Report Check-In

Its a good point for us, 27ft rv. Thanks for sharIng. The camping priceis 2k colonis per person. Hot spring is 6k colonis per person. Quite good price comparing to the good hot spring. Very nice!

Report Check-In

Camping available on a field just ouside the gate of a developed hotspring. Location is about 10 minutes drive out of town towards Lago Arenal. the ground is not very level, but it is possible to find a deasent spot. Should be okay also for RVs. You don't have to pay the entrance fee to the hotsprings, but for 8000 colones per person it is a nice alternative for the evening. They are open until 10PM.

Price: 4000 colones
