Exactly as described below. Very nice spot

Report Check-In

As discribed, very nice, calm and good to spend a rainy day. Only fishermen coming by.

Please dig a hole for your poo and don't leave toilet paper or other trash behind.

Report Check-In

Had a peaceful night here. Follow the track downriver for privacy and easy access to the river. Took a bath…brisk but doable.

One of the best spots in Chile? Don’t know about that but nice just the same.

Report Check-In

All remains as previously reported. Beautiful site, easy access. some local day users, but alone overnight. keep it clean

Report Check-In

yes, great spot. it's 3.9km of ripio for those on bikes who are thinking about it. worth it as far as I'm concerned. pretty dusty road, with corrogation and loose gravel on some sections. not overly hard though. word of caution: it's a road to a mining operation so heavy dumpster trucks do plug along, though they are pretty slow when fully loaded. the camp spot is also where there is a very elaborate shrine to San sebastian, patron saint of truckers apparently. river access easy and possible to take a cold dip. I'd recommend it.

Report Check-In

Beautiful spot and well worth the short easy 5 km detour of the Carretera. Camping along the river, far enough behind the shrine that you are not going to be bothered. One good spot right above river, others a bit screened by broom or in trees. Great flower display at moment! Only ones here and very peaceful.

Report Check-In

Nice little quiet spot by the river. A bit of a view on a cliff that you can hear rocks falling from time to time. The road to get there goes through lovely fields that look like lavender and smell incredible.

Report Check-In

Incredible place ! One of the best spot we stayed in Chile ! 100% recommand it

Report Check-In

Very nice spot to stay a couple of nights. Nobody here but it's winter. Some cars stop to the sanctuary. Clean. We had to move back to the entance and the bathrooms (letrines) because of the heavy rain (and afraid to live a flood)

Report Check-In

Beautiful and tranquil place. So many options with great views of the river and surrounding mountains.

Report Check-In

Truely a magnificent wild camp spot. A bit a rubbish lying in a campfire ring but otherwise clean. Keep it that way, take your rubbish with you.

Report Check-In

Super place to stay - I stayed 3 nights. Great access to water and very private and quiet. Plenty of space for multiple camp sites and variety of camping styles be it vehicle or tents. It’s far enough from the main route 7 that not many people visit it.

Report Check-In

A wonderful place, calm, protected from the wind, you can bathe in the river, 3G with Claro

Report Check-In

We camped here for two nights and it was absolutely stunning! It took a while before you're there but once you follow the path to the last part where you can park, you have the place for yourself. Some locals crossed by and were very friendly

Report Check-In

Super nice. Lots of room in the first spot, under the trees or next to the water. Just one spot further down the path, which I think is the nicest. 4g entel. Stunning scenery.

Report Check-In

A perfect campsite for a night or several! Very private and large enough for a few campers to keep their privacy. After the turn off Ruta 7, there’s a bridge with a picturesque view of a stand alone mountain, river, and fields of wildflowers (this season). There’s a small dirt road aside the bridge to park and view on a clear day. This view is worth a 2 minute detour, even if you decide not to camp by the river! The river is loud at camp, but this didn’t bother us. Tranquil, day and night (:

Report Check-In

Still a really nice spot. Just one other camper when we were there (November), so very quiet. Fire pits and cold water for a quick river dip.

Report Check-In

Very tranquil and dreamy :) One night stay, no disturbances of human or bug variety.

Report Check-In

super beautiful, just one other camper, but it‘s so big it doesn‘t matter! recommend

Report Check-In

really good place to chill, it has everything you need to be well in the nature, there it was some trash when when we arrive but place was nice , river great and views awesome, the best weather since we started even at night.

Report Check-In

As described: perfect place even for couple of days. With hummingbirds, ringed kingfishers, black-faced ibis and otters. Because the place was empty, we chosed the most remote place under the rocks on the left with best access to watter. Place for many rigs and tents. Only two horses came to visit us in the morning. Beautiful place.

Report Check-In

Nice place away from the ruta 7 but quickly there. Close to the river with view on the mountains. Lot of different spots near the river or under the trees. Fire pits. There's a small sanctuary and all the cars passing by horn to salute! But no traffic at night. Accessible without 4WD and possible to pitch a tent.

Report Check-In

Great spot, better than paid campsites even! Fresh water source, plenty of shady or none shady areas to park up and good view PLUS entel and wom reception. What more could you ask for?! Love it here

Report Check-In

Report Check-In

We spent 3 nights there after hiking at Queulat glacier.
The place is so lovely and calm that WE wanted to have a small break there.
You can fish in the river where the stream is less strong.
The closest town is 20min a drive, bring your garbage with !!

Report Check-In

Nice place, quiet night.
It would be perfect if people take their garbage bags with them and not leave them leaning against a tree.

Report Check-In

This is not an exaggeration but this campsite it’s been one of our favorites in 9 months on the road. Once in the spot, we drove a few more meters down the river to a very secluded area where there is a very calm section of the river in which we spotted big trouts and salmon in clear cristal water, the mountains behind are the complement for a perfect scenery.

Report Check-In

the road until there is really good (70km/h). so the access is good.
trees protected us from a small rain. i guess not enough for a big storm. we were rm2 campervans and 1 motocycle. enough space for everyone.
enjoy it!

Report Check-In

very nice and quiet place. lot of wood and amazing view :)

Report Check-In

Good spot over all. Stayed here one night in our camper van + 2 tents. Met and made friends with a few other Overlanders in a van as well who had arrived just before we did. Later in the night another van pulled in and camped nearby. Spots are spread out enough to have a nice quiet night. I slept in a tent right next to the water. A friendly gaucho greeted us in the morning as we were packing up to leave

Report Check-In

Amazing! Worth the detour from R7 (about 5km along a ripio track). We had the whole spot to ourselves, bar hundreds of mosquitos. A lot of shelter from the wind and a natural source of water made it almost as good as a hostel!

Report Check-In

Great camping. On river. River slow enough to take a dip. Good detour for cyclists

Report Check-In

perfect. .....,.....................................

Report Check-In

Very recommended. There are a few spots to stay. Quiet and hermoso :)

Report Check-In

Confirming everything: beautiful and quiet, some rubbish... and adding: has good 3G Entel data signal.

Report Check-In

Indeed a very nice spot directly at the river - unfortunately some people left their rubbish in the firepit!!! We spent a quiet night. The pit toilet is very clean.

Report Check-In

Very nice place and super clean pit toilet. Good option when you don't want to stay directly next to Ruta 7

Report Check-In

Beautiful spot on the river behind the shrine. Some garbage and cow poop around. We were the only one there and fell asleep to the sound of the river.

Report Check-In

Confirming what everyone else has said. This is an awesome little campground. Fit 4 motorcycles and tents.

Report Check-In

Very nice place to camp, easily accessible river, a little rubbish around but not too much, a few fire pits, we found a nice grass patch 2m from the river, quietish, no mosquitoes or horseflys but it is late March.
3.6km detour off the CA. Cyclists beware: the dirt road is not great, but we did it on hybrid tyres and don't regret it

Report Check-In

Perfect, and with lots of trees to shelter from the rain!

Report Check-In

really nice place and loved to stay but billion mosquitoes :-(

Report Check-In

Very nice place where we saw condors and colibris. Be careful if you enter with a big rig as the path is a bit rough and there is a branch at about 3.2m high. However you could also stay nearer to the road on the right other shrine.

Report Check-In

Perfect place to spend Christmas. No one but us...and a lone gaucho that came to collect a cow late on the 25th. Highly recommended.

Report Check-In

Behind the San Sebastian shrine. Great spot on the Rio Manihuales.
4 km from the highway. Pit toilet in small building west of the shrine. Price is 1 peso deposit in shrine.

Report Check-In

Beautiful space. Well worth the detour on the way south

Report Check-In

Nice spot, quiet and beautiful view. Be aware of horseflies and mosquitos.

Report Check-In

Amazing camping spot! Easy to find and easy reach by car. Great view, beautiful and refreshing river and big fire pit.
Very sad to see that people also use this place to dump garbage (whole bags and old material), a bit further in the bushes.

Report Check-In

les vagueauvent. Beautiful spot. Take on the left of Jesus house through the trees until the river. Lot of wood.

Report Check-In

beautiful spot!!!!! had lunch here, but had a hard time leaving....
just at the moment we got into the car, 2 condors came by. very close and low!! :-)
they are right across the river on the steep rocks, seems like they have a nest here.

when you're at the parking, just drive trough the woods to the river. plenty of wood for a campfire and you don't hear the road over the sounds of the river.

Report Check-In

Nice spot on the river shore. Very quiet, only the noise of the river. Beautiful view on the montains.
