We tried to stay here before crossing the border but both accesses to the waterfront road were closed for cars by locked gates.
Luckily we met Oscar who let us park in the parking lot of his hotel instead (see 'Hotel Heliconia' iOverlander spot).
Report Check-InNice and quiet town to stay , lots of birds and the possibility to rent a lancia to explore the neighbourhood. After semana Santa rio start getting bigger. If you go on the road that run on the side of the airport you can find a dry lagoon with tons of wildlife.
Report Check-InGreat spot to stay. Lots of locals visiting this place as it's a public park. SUper clean, no garbage. Some kids smoking weed on the waters edge but they were gone by 10pm. Frequent police visits. Felt totally safe.
Report Check-InNice place for a day or 2. You can stay on the lawn and not on the street. Police is patrolling regularly. Very safe and free.
