Camped here for one nigt with our bicycles. We payed 80 pesos entrance per person, weren't asked for any extra money to camp. We camped right next to the water where the restaurants end. The water is amazing, the spot is beautiful, camping is really cheap, but definitely some cons as well:
- We came on a friday and it was VERY busy. Little kids and women try to sell you stuff non stop or simply ask for money and don't take 'no' for an answer.
- Toilets close at around 7PM so after that you'll have to go into the bushes :)
- Our camping spot was very peaceful at first, but around midnight a car pulled up very close for us, and some guys put down chairs, brought out dozens of beer cans and some speakers. They played music and shouted all night long and were still at it when we left at 7 in the morning.
So in general, beautiful place, very impressive waterfalls, but might not be as idyllic as you'd wish.

We informed about the cabañas as well. They said 500 per night, but price might be negotiable.

Magic place. So peaceful if you're not in between the restaurants. I payed 40 Pesos twice for the entrance and 50 pesos to camp. I could pitch my tent right at the river which was phenomenal. Awesome place to camp if you're with a bike and a tent.

Report Check-In

When we arrived the community was charging us 80MXN to camp. We are tent camping and there was no real space as all the ground was unkept and rocky.
Ended up staying in the cabins for 350MXN as it was late and didn't want to drive to another place

Report Check-In

Really loved the waterfall here. Even in rainy season when it’s not super blue the power and magnitude is incredible! The place is huge and you can hike all the way up to multiple tiers of waterfalls. It’s more touristy than other places but still nice. We camped here for free, no one came over to request money from us. We just parked on the little path after the last restaurant. Toilets are around but cost $5 pesos.

Report Check-In

Very nice place !! Juan, the guy that owns the cabaña asked for 50 pesos in addition to the 40pesos to access the place. It’s super cheap so we didn’t argue.

If you dont want to pay, you can park to the other parking spot marked on iOverlander but we really enjoyed being so close to the water and come to our rig whenener we needed some stuff !

Report Check-In

Beautiful cascades, I parked in the small parking lot closest to the agua azul cascadas and didn't pay anything apart from the entry fee for the Cascadas (40 pp) I had a very short walk to the river, pretty quiet at night since all the tourists generally come and go during the day, just locals left at night packing up, resting and preparing for the next day, friendly stray dogs,

Report Check-In

When we arrived here I asked to the owner of closest restaurant if I can sleep here. He said no problem, that's free. Around sunset a guy came and wanted 50 pesos, I explained that it was free. He insisted, I explained that the owner of restaurant said me it was free, they got a discussion and finally he left. Otherwise it is a nice place to camp near the river.

Report Check-In

From what we understood, if you camp in this exact spot (nice little green space), you have to pay the additional 50 pesos as it belongs to the the same people that rent out the cabanas. If you park somewhere else, as for example the other iOverlander spot, its free.

Report Check-In

I intended to camp here but didn't really feel like there was a secure and nice spot for both my tent and my motorcycle. Opted for the cabins instead.

Report Check-In

Nice area to camp. Camping is included in the entry fee for Agua Azul! Loved to explore the site in the morning. Best time to take pictures.
Many toilets and showers for 5 to 10 pesos.

Report Check-In

It is an official camping area at Agua Azul but the ground is neither really flat nor is there a lot of space. Still very beautiful.

The scammer is still there and tried to charge us 50 Pesos per tent. When we told him we're not paying because there is no bathroom or electricity included he offered us to use the bathroom of the nearby cabañas. After we declined and told him we're not paying he left and didn't bother is again.

Report Check-In

Camping here is for free. Other overlanders report that a man came to charge for camping, this man is a scammer. I was confirmed at the 40MXN pp oficial entry that camping is for free.

Why should it cost anything if you don't get water, toilets, shower or anything else?
Used the white tiled toilet and when comming out i was approached by a rude man telling me i can't use it. Thete was no sign indicating that the toilet is for restaurant guests or for charge only.

Better to camp and explore Roberto Barrios falls. It is the same natural phenomen just that it is more enjoyable because you are free to swim and climb anywhere, you'll feel the nature because of less people and have a better camping situation and no sellers. The main fall at AguaAzul is bigger then the Roberto Barrios falls, the rest is the same.

A beautiful waterfall. If you walk all the way up to the beginning of the waterfalls, you are nearly alone. Camping was free and OK in the big parking lot.

Report Check-In

No camping fee, close to the water front and swi ing possibility. Night was calm, no dogs or donkeys ...

Spent two nights and loved it! The falls are well worth a visit. We were only charged 50p per person for entry to the falls. We were not charged for camping. They have garbage cans and bathrooms for 5p. The bathrooms close around 5/6pm. The road in is fully paved. No cell service or wifi

Report Check-In

Very chill place, we arrived at 4pm and visited the waterfalls. A guy came at night and asked 100 pesos. We said we'll pay 50 pesos and nothing more. He agreed and left. Very quiet at night and you have the waterfalls for yourself in the morning.

Report Check-In

we showed up and were thinking it was 50peso/vehicle. but its actually 50peso/person, as an entrace fee to the park. children under 6 are free. The area is nice the parking lot is level and shaded with picnic tables. beautiful location.

Report Check-In

WOW! These cascading waterfalls are really amazing! We stayed there over night. Additional to the entrance fee they charged 50p for a car. Ver reasonable price. You have to pay 5p for everytime you use the bathroom. However, totally worth it. It's pretty loud at night because of the Cascades. But the morning is incredible! I woke up at 7:30 and enjoyed the view. Additionally, walking around with very few tourists is soooo nice!
For charging our phones, we just asked at the restaurant where we ate if we could charge them there, no problems at all.
Total recommendation!

Report Check-In

Nice spot right on the water. 50p to entre the park and a man came up later charging 50p for camping. No facilities, just a nice grassy spot with a chair and fire pit. Good spot to stay if you want to get up early to explore the falls without crowds.

Report Check-In

It's amazing place. A men asked 50pp but we told him that we would only pay 50 for vehicle and he said it was okey. We stayed here 2 nights with other vans and tents. Dinner in the area is very cheap

Report Check-In

Nice place, parking is big, the falls are beautiful but the area could be improved. We came with a little tour bus. We saw a few small blockade from Palenque but the driver just zipped through, 3 of them and never slowed down, I guess they have enough of this mascarade.

Report Check-In

The place is amazing, the river is long so don’t forget to visit all the different spots. Check the maps that are on the path.
We had to stay in a cabaña because our pop up camper system broke (we fixed that and other stuffs in san cristobal de las casas at Uberto s place near coca cola. an excelent city to fix everything. Cheap and good work)
If we had the camper for sure we had stayed longer.
If going to SAN CRIS try to get of time or drive during saturdays because of the road blockades! This are sporadic and spontaneous so the ones that are in the map didn’t affect us.

Report Check-In

We stayed two nights on the regular parkinglot. We felt save and we liked the big trees and their shadow under which we parked. We payed just 50 Pesos for entry (2 Persons) and nothing for camping. 5 Pesos for the toilets. A lot of sales people came during the day, which was sometimes a bit disturbing. The waterfalls are great, the water is so refreshing after a driving day ;-)

Report Check-In

So pretty! We loved it here. We slept in our truck in the center of town and didn't pay any extra to do so and nobody bothered us. Picnic tables for cooking and eating. There were bathrooms (5peso) they do close at night though. The falls are great and so blue..... tons of great swimming holes to explore and if you wake up early you have the place to yourself.

Report Check-In

Toyota 4runner with rtt. Stayed here at camping spot 2. Only a small area of hard ground, rest is quite muddy. If you have a tent you could sleep under 1 of the palapas. 50P for the car in addition to entrance fee. Some people around into the evening but quiet overnight.

Report Check-In

Really gorgeous waterfall. Hardly anyone at the falls after 4pm ish, and in the morning. You're just camped in the parking lot so it's not lovely, but good enough! No one asked us for any money for staying the night, we just paid the park entrance fee.
Definitely try to avoid weekend - we were there one week day and one weekend day and the difference in crowds was enormous.

Report Check-In

Camped here for one night near camping area 2. No one asked for payment (aside from the entrance to the Falls themselves). Quiet night and the falls are stunning!

Report Check-In

We stayed overnight in Camping Area 2, which is right by the water. Guy renting cabañas came over and asked for 100P and seemed fairly legit (I chatted with him for an hour). Use of basic toilets and showers (not that you need the latter here).

I suspect you can camp in the nearby parking area but it wasn't as nice.

Report Check-In

The falls are amazing and a must see. The camping was not great. Did not feel overly safe and was noisy at times. Pesos required to use the restroom near parking.
