Description

There are two places to buy petrol/diesel next to each other. We tried both. if you're coming from the south, the first station you get to let us buy petrol at local rates in a jerry can and once on our bike (the bike currently ha no plates). The other place would only give us the foreigner price, even in a jerry can.

The station in front of the bridge sold us gasolina for 6bol/L in our truck tank. There is a cold shower( average clean).

Latest Check-Ins

We managed to get gasoline here. Not easy. We bought 100B of fuel at the local price and gave a 20B 'propina'. Keep an eye on your fuel gauge. It is difficult to get fuel around here. We managed to buy enough to get us to the border with Argentina.

Report Check-In

it's the first one when you enter from south. filled tank without problems at local price, took a good tip

Report Check-In

impossible for us to get diesel in both stations that are next to each other

Report Check-In

one refused to sell gas to me (either in the car or in jerrycans), the other would only sell at international price. went to the YPFB instead.

6 bol per litre of diesel to the tank. sij factura.

Report Check-In

Le prix de l'essence était de 3,1 bols. La moins chère du parcours. Prix indiqué par la pompe, pas eu besoin de négocier.

Report Check-In

I can confirm: diesel can be easily negotiated at 6B/l at the southern station. Woman very friendly.

Report Check-In

We went to the one right afront the bridge and we agree very easily for 6bol/L of gasolina direct in the tank "Sin Factura".
There is also toilets and showers (cold) in both man and woman bano. It was average clean.

Report Check-In

Both stations told us 8.86 even in bidon and wouldn’t budge.

Report Check-In

The southern fuel station wouldn't fill bottles because the fuel nozzle is too small to enter, so only bidones. We met a friendly local who was buying gas in a bidon because his motorcycle didn't have a number plate, and he bought for us at local price. Apparently not having a number plate is quite common in Tupiza.

Report Check-In

The place is not completely at the right location. The southern fuel station doesn’t fill gas canisters (it seems to be forbidden) and the northern fuel station only fills 10 liters per canister for foreign price (they probably saw my car).

Report Check-In

We first tried the petrol station north. They were willing to fill jerrycans but did not want to negociate so we left.
We then went to the one south. The women first told us it was 8,5/L but when we told her we have friends that had it for 6 here it was immediately OK. We filled our tank and jerrycan without any issues here!

PS: jerrycans available in the center for 30BOB (20L)

Report Check-In

Both stations refused to sell fuel in Jerry cans. Told them it was for a generator but that didn't matter. The southern most one wanted a copy of carnet. May try again when it's dark.

Report Check-In

In the southest one I fulled my 20 litre jerrycan and paid 6 per litre. At the beginning she wanted me to pay 8, but I negotiated. The bolivian price was around 3 bolivianos per litre. All the thing it had to be hidden from the cameras. Don't show up with your car, just park near and go walking if you only want to full the jerrycan. If they ask the propose of the gas, try to say that is for a generator.

Report Check-In

Impossible to fill tank at low price at both stations: only foreign price at 8,7 bol/l.

Report Check-In

Got it for 6. It's on the main road.

Report Check-In

one further north wouldn't sell as had no factura , one slightly south sold at official rate ( but a Police car did pull in behind me !)
