Mecanicar 4x4 | Mechanic and Parts

This was our third time to visit Mecanicar, but unfortunately we have to agree with the negative review below. It’s a similar story. The thing that we wanted fixed isn’t. They told us our brand new (3 months old) turbo wasn’t original so they needed to replace the inside parts. 1500 euro later, we asked if Beto could write down what was wrong with it. He didn’t refuse, he just blocked all communication. Incompetent, arrogant or con artist or all three. We don’t know, since he refuses to answer.

We got the fan of our Fiat Ducato repaired at Roberto‘s place. We can confirm all comments below. Don‘t expect „local prices“, expect around PYG 100‘000 per working hour + price of any spare parts.

Very friendly, skilled and competent. They repaired our Iglhaut diff-lock, painted a door, repaired the AC- invited us to a barbecue. Don’t expect very low prices, but we think, they are worth the money.

This is our first comment in I.O and we are for 3 years on the road now.. so we had a lot of expiriance but this was worst...
we definitely can not recommend this place. We let do a lot of work here ( 3000$) and within three weeks we had to go to two other mecanics to let fix what they have done not well or destroyed...at the moment 450$ for repairs...
as we told Roberto that, he deleded our contact and for shure he didn't give us any money for anything back..
for us, too cool, too arrogant and not ready to admin a mistake

Excellent knowledge and service. We had our truck at the official dealers workshop only for them to not find the problem in oer a week. Then quoting us $1000 to take the engine apart just to look. We had even told them where to look and why and still adamant couldn't find issue. Then we took car away and to Roberto at mecanicar. Fact he speaks English is worth its weight in gold. He listened first and understood our thinking. Next morning everything sorted! So while we were there decided to get brakes and shocks done too. Good bunch of mechanics and service. Check out all his rally trophies to see his passion for vehicles that do it tough.

Mecanicar is a very good equipped workshop. Roberto the owner speaks good english. He and his crew is very skilled on all 4x4 ! We changed the clutch on our Landcruiser.

We were there with our Camper Toyota Landcruiser for several replacements and repairs which took 5 days. Roberto is very helpful in finding solutions for problems, his workmen are very skilled and the workshop is well equiped.

Our shock absorbers had come loose and Roberto's crew fixed it immediately. Very satisfying. We will be back.

Mecanicar workshop for all car types, incl. 4x4, vans and trucks. Good equiped and organised. They did very good Landcruiser work for us. They even repared our little Honda generator.
