A 24-hr campsite next to the river. The sign coming in says up to 14 day stay but when I asked people they said the $8 Tonto National Forest Pass is only good for 24hrs. The Tonto Pass is available at the ranger station, or at Circle K gas stations, Walmart. Buy one, or you may be subject to a $100 fine. Very basic sites, basically a gravel parking lot. But tents and RVs are all around

Pulled in here near dusk. Very quiet secluded area — basically a parking area by the river. Nice and flat. 1-2 bars if ATT service.
Report Check-InStayed one quick night. Guilt of not buying a pass. Rained pretty hard. There’s some spots with gravel that bode well when wet. We parked under an cottonwood that was muddy by morning. There’s a dry gully or creek crossing right as you enter with a slope. The mud stopped us from exiting in the AM in 2wd. Very sloppy mud. No problem in 4wd. Not a great view of river but good trail for dog walk. Did not experience the j-johns or bathroom.
Report Check-InBeautiful place to stay. The first day we’ve arrived, we could see wild horses on the other side of the river. It’s quiet and feels safe.
