Latest Check-Ins

1 night. T-Mobile 5g - 1 bar. Nice little area. Saw a tent and further down a trailer. The trailer later became not so fun as they ran their gas generator all night and was so loud . Blaring lights too.

I can see how this place an be nice, but not with that kind of noise. A shame.

Report Check-In

Be ready for the drive in it is an all gravel road. All I can say is batten down the hatchs. Once you get here you will be able to relax very secluded camp sites are spread out. Just make sure you have what you need for your stay. This is very primitive.

Report Check-In

Nice and remote site, but the mosquitos were some of the worst I’ve seen! Also worth noting, there is a 9 mile gravel road with pretty intense washboarding to get there. We made it fine in a 2wd van, but it added quite a bit of drive time.

Report Check-In

it was great here. we stayed for two days. saw two other campers on each day, but spots were far enough away it still felt private. lots of bugs but that makes sense. not bothered by anyone there's a sign on each side to indicate the camping area, you'll keep seeing signs before that saying no trespassing but then you get to the designated camping area. would definitely go again

Report Check-In

We were alone in this super vast area.
Really quiet.
Some garbage around fire pits.

Report Check-In

A nice wide open set of camp spots, but no T-Mobile phone service even with booster. I couldn’t stay. Only one other vehicle there.

Report Check-In

We didn’t up staying here due to not having cell service even with a booster and needing to work online. Don’t recommend coming to this spot after heavy rain. There were lots of spots available with picnic tables. Would definitely have been a nice spot if we didn’t need cell service

Report Check-In

for all the sketchy parking lots, impassable roads, and spots busted by cops, it's spots like this that completely redeem my trust in this app. traveling the south during winter months is great, bugs aren't really an issue atm.

Report Check-In

As previously stated, this place is awesome! Clean an quiet. Nobody else here.

Report Check-In

As previously described, this spot is in an elevated field with plenty of space. Each site has a picnic table and most have fire rings. Spots are against the woods allowing for privacy despite having a clearing on the other side. We saw one other van camper there but a slight bend in the trees made us impossible to see one another once we got to our spot. Easy self registration (check in/check out, no fee). Seems to be a hot spot for hunters as they asked us to indicate what we were hunting and our “harvest number” as we checked out. We did not see any hunters or any evidence of them while we were there.

Spots are pretty level and conducive to tents and rigs. No 4WD necessary. Some larger ditches on the gravel road in but nothing crazy. You go by a lot of houses and RVs getting to the camping spot. There’s a few areas both marked as “parking” and “private property”. The camping spot is very clearly labeled “camping”. The path up to the clearing is relatively steep with loose gravel so I’m not sure how big rigs or skoolies would do.

We were hesitant to camp in this area because of local flash flood warnings. However, it is significantly elevated and, while adjacent to a body of water, was not swampy at all. Very dewy and humid, but it’s literally Louisiana. Only a few bugs in late March. Not sure if they were biting or not.

We saw a TON of wildlife on our drive in and out including an armadillo, several owls, and lots of waterfowl. Very magical.

Report Check-In

Free (permit sign in and out) spot! I definitely recommend this spot. It wasn't buggy when we went in March which was nice. The views are beautiful and we only have 1-2 other people pretty far away from our site. There are maybe 10 sites total? Barely any Verizon reception even with a booster, so that is my only complaint. No need for 4WD... we did just fine with our 2WD van.

Report Check-In

Confusing at first but then we saw the camping sign (kinda small). Pulled up on the levee and there we were! Picnic tables and fire pits with a little cell service. Very quiet. YES, flying insects but we have the K.I.S.S. Airflow screens that kept the van bug free. You can buy yours at www.TheRollingStowes.com

Report Check-In

There are a lot of bugs here, but I’ll take this open, welcoming spot over the one a little bit south of here where three trucks stopped to check out my Blazer in the 45 minutes I spent there before moving to this spot.

I’d say the Confederate flag on the house next to that spot and the rooster were enough reasons to leave there. It is hot and buggy here tonight, I must say, but at least it’s quiet and welcoming.

Cheers all. Happy travelin!

Report Check-In

I cannot begin to tell you how many bugs are here. Dragon flies, mosquitoes, gnats, no-see-ums, fire ants, hornets, cicadas oh my! We legit couldn't step outside even with a bug fogger, candle, bug dope, and deet lotion. Could be because of all the recent rain, but I would not recommend this spot right now.

Report Check-In

as described. mowed lawn and picnic benches.

Report Check-In

Nice primitive camping spot. Picnic tables and fire pits. 3g on Verizon and Google FI

Report Check-In

Wide open grassy space against the forest. Picnic tables, no facilities. This is the spot to camp if you want to avoid the gun noise up the road.
