Description

Beautiful site, huge trees, fire pit. just off rt120 on the way to Yosemite. 100% free. Get a free fire permit online from The national forest before you start bonfires. Road in is a short but fun, could be interesting when muddy but I got the motorhome back here easy enough

Latest Check-Ins

Perfect spot to sleep, we were 2 cars and 1 RV.

Report Check-In

As described. Bumpy road but fine. Flat and Dusty when dry. Tree still down but you can park in front of the log and use the space behind. There is also a larger space for multiple vehicles. We were not alone - whole area busy due to proximity to YNP. Lots of people turn up after dark. NOTE toilet paper is rubbish so don’t leave it behind no one wants to see that!! Also maybe if people are on holiday maybe renting vans (not used to the lifestyle) welcome! But just please be courteous if you’re going to arrive late don’t slam your rental van doors many times people are sleeping in the vehicle you parked 10ft away from!

Report Check-In

Small road off of 120. A little rough getting in. Seems like a fallen tree blocked most of the side road up but there are still a few spots closer to the main road. No verizon service but close to the lodge. Seems decent.

Report Check-In

Nice and quiet but to get in there is a lot of potholes!! We had 2 nights here and near Yosemite Park

Report Check-In

Road in was a little rough as described but was able to make it in my Honda Accord just go slow and avoid the huge pot holes. Was joined by another car around 10pm. Was able to use the bathroom and lodge wifi a short walk down the road. Highly recommended this place to anyone going to Yosemite. (Also don’t know if it’s still there but there was a jar of weed left behind on the stump at the back of the site. I didn’t take as i’m sober but the next person to stay here could get lucky!)

Report Check-In

The road is reopened and all the spots of this loop are accessible and all were used last night.
Really quiet and the asphalt is in good condition

Report Check-In

The road is close due construction repair

Report Check-In

Very nice spot, very quiet.
We were only 3 for this saturday night.

Report Check-In

We arrived here on Saturday afternoon and all places on the road were full except for the one along the road. Sunday evening there was nobody though! Great spot, a short bumpy ride there, but we made it with our 2W van in the dry season (looks like it gets muddy in winter though). Pretty spot with lots of space and very level. However, a bit sad to see that behind in the forest many people left toilet paper and some trash. Please take care of spots better and take your trash. Toilet paper is not biodegradable!

Also: nice that you can easily go to the Rusk Creek lodge, where you can park your van on the low spots (without bothering anyone) and catch some decent WiFi signal for a little bit. Looks like a beautiful place to stay as well if your budget would allow.

Report Check-In

Great spot, very close to Yosemite entrance! Quiet :)

Report Check-In

Very nice place in the forest. No mosquitoes tonight, and it was not too hot either, even if it was 37 degrees this afternoon. Large place on sand, clean.
It was rough to get to the spot. I would not recommend big rig.

Report Check-In

Super easy to get to, right off of 120. One spot is long enough for a full-length RV. There’s another flat spot with enough room for 2-4 cars or vans. Even a teensy bit of Verizon cell service!

Report Check-In

nice spot..close to the lodge and could hear children frolicking. no Verizon data despite it occasionally saying 2 bars lte

Report Check-In

This is a really great spot. The drive in off 120 was a little further than I expected. Especially when carrying a 5000 pound truck camper, but found the decent size spot which is large enough for a few good size RVs. The are is very clean; no trash anywhere! Nice to see that. This is a perfect spot to stay overnight to get an early start into Yosemite.

Report Check-In

Not sure if it’s the time of year but I went to 2 different spots on Hardin Flat Road and was infested by mosquitoes. I’ve never seen so many in my life. Would not recommend staying in a tent as there was 100s of mosquitoes and yellowjackets swarming outside. If you stay here, idle for a bit and check out the bug situation first. Other than that, it’s great and near the entrance to Yosemite. 50 min drive to Half Dome

Report Check-In

there is a lot of options for parking along this road. we didn't stay at these exact coordinates because not all the spots are marked on this app. it was pretty quiet but the road is thin, so beware with a big rig, you may have trouble turning around. we were able to in a 25 ft skoolie but it was tight. this national forest was so pretty! and very close to two of the yosemite entrances.

Report Check-In

Beautiful and quiet! It’s the closest spot to the entrance of Yosemite which made it even better. The first night it was just and another car and the second night there were 5 of us spread out. It says no camping on the road up and the first morning a man came at 9am and asked if we camped there. We said no and he left but just be advised the locals may know people try to sleep here. My advise would be to just leave early from the spot every morning and you should be good to go!

Report Check-In

Nice flat site just off paved road. Can easily for three or four rigs in here.

Report Check-In

Showed up late, two RVs there with us as well. Had a safe feeling peaceful sleep, very conveniently located as well. Will be back for sure!

Report Check-In

Nice spot, but a lot of dead trees falling. Dangerous! The second ons is much beter and no dead trees there!

Report Check-In

We stayed a night before going to Yosemite. 3 other campers were there too, super quiet and beautiful.

Report Check-In

great location close to the entrance of Yosemite. few big trees down blocking some of it but still able to get 4 other cars out here. there is a resort a few blocks away and they have a little store that sells breakfast sandwiches and coffee.

Report Check-In

Beautiful spot in the forest, very close to the entrance of Yosemite. There were many campers but there's enough space. We were here on a Saturday night and didn't hear music or noise from the nearby lodge.

Report Check-In

Un endroit comme on les aime, seul au monde dans la nature...

Report Check-In

Nice free spot close to Yosemite. There were 6 vehicles including us that stayed overnight. There is a decent amount of space though. Would stay again!

Report Check-In

Great, quiet spot. First turnout is more for 4WD, continue the road for more easy-to-reach options.

Report Check-In

Perfect and quiet place. Last 50 m is bumpy but no problem for my 24 ft RV. Only when Its rainy then you get problems with the mud.

Report Check-In

Good spot for overnight camping, we got there at 3:30 pm and were 3 , but came up to 8 vehicles at night!

Report Check-In

Pasamos una noche aca. Cerca de una de las entradas al parque, tranquilo y con wifi (no muy bueno)

Report Check-In

We stood there two nights and entered from there the Yosemite NP early in the morning.

Report Check-In

Nice and close to a NP gate. 4x4 not needed.

Report Check-In

Perfect place just outside of the park. No 4WD required to access this spot.

Report Check-In

Great spot. Stayed here for 5 days. Could hear live band at hotel. Was nice to listen to in camp!

Report Check-In

This was a great secluded spot. No other people camping on the first turnout on the right (from 120) that we chose. There could have been room for others though. There was fire pit but there was plenty of wood to use there that was scattered about the grass. Sunset through trees, next to no service, lots of wood to use for fire (just clean up and leave no trace as we all know). We had almost stopped at an Rv park before this space. It has no trees between RV’s and it looked cramped. I was so pleased for this boondock spot. It takes about an hour to get to the base of EL Capitan and the cathedral rocks from here. So get up early ;)

Report Check-In

national forest. near rush creek lodge. many avaiable sights a bit further on Hardin flats road

Report Check-In

From Hwy 120 take Hardin Flat Rd. Past the lodge (on left) there are multiple flat turnouts. We saw at least 5 campers.

Report Check-In

Stayed there for a night, very quiet, nice sunset throught the forest!

Report Check-In

As described, did the job well for one night. Popular. Loud music on Sat evening.

Report Check-In

nice place to spend the night for free.no toilets! we where here in the weekend.you can hear music/disco.
2 miles before entrence Yosemite park.45 minutes drive to Yosemite Valley.

Report Check-In

Great place in the forest close to Yosemite. We arrived late around 8:30 pm. There was nobody, four cars came later. I think local climbers use this spot too. Very quiet at night.

Report Check-In

here for 2 days. popular location. was always 3 campers every night. Wi-Fi is pretty bad, but when you don't really have cell service it's fantastic. so close to the park too.

Report Check-In

we spent 3 nights there. it's quiet and very close to the park entrance. A caution post indicates that some trees are dying and can fall down. So some sites were closed.

Report Check-In

No cell service, vault toilets. Free NF camping right outside the park!

Report Check-In

definitely need a 4x4 or high clearance to get further off the road or not be scared of getting a puncture. quiet area

Report Check-In

Great spot! Close to the road and to Yosemite and very quite.
There is a resort next to it with a open Wifi. I also had signal in car, but not strong, if you walk 200m to the resort the signal is ok.

Report Check-In

Quiet and nice place. But it is dusty.
