Quiet spot on the Ranchería River. Four sites for small vehicles. We are here alone. Not big rig friendly. Abandoned, half collapsed bridge from the old Alaskan Highway?
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
close to the road but not a lot of action going on. if you hide in the roundabout it's private enough for a night. quite decently leveled. beautiful views, the sound of the river is lovely. we are alone at dusk, room for maybe 3-4 other vehicles if you squeeze in. we did not stay in the sandy, more secluded area due to comments about the sinking sand.
Report Check-InNice spot but like another poster said be careful of the deep sand near where the bridge footing used to be. We got stuck.
Report Check-InAs described. Bugs were bad. Be ready. Quieter down at river but still can hear road noise. No cell service. Beautiful views, lovely river. Bridge definitely washed away but cement slabs still evident.
Report Check-InThis location has been modified recently, likely due to the floods this spring. The old bridge is gone. Currently, there are two spots to camp in close to the highway. If you go to the end of the dirt road, you come to a large open area of sand and gravel. It's a little soft as you proceed towards the water. Generally flat with lots of space to turn around if you are a big rig. Views are still spectacular and the sound of the river drowns out most of the highway noise.
Report Check-InLarge sandy spot next to the river. Some work has been done to protect the river banks with concrete blocks. The bridge has disappeared. Additional spot a bit further from the river. Few insects until sunset (but then, they were out in force). HWY 1 audible but not visible. Good for one night.
Report Check-InAs already say, beautifull place, so far no mosquitos and nobody around.
Report Check-InTrès bel endroit. Vue magnifique. Le pont est disparue par les crue du printemps.
Report Check-InVery nice spot with view on the river and on an old abandoned bridge. There is a beaver here!
Report Check-InPretty quiet in October, snowcovered mountains all around with the last golden leaves on the poplars. Please don't leave your toilet paper everywhere! 😑
Report Check-InAs described. Beautiful scenery. Super quiet. We had the place for ourselves. No Bell/Lucky cell service.
Report Check-InVery nice and quiet close to the river. The river can be easily reached for a swim etc. Sweet views on the mountains, too and we were the only ones here. The bridge is half collapsed though so you can't cross anymore.
Report Check-InGreat location next to river. At 7.30pm we are the only ones here. Gorgeous. So far, no mosquitos!!
Report Check-Incoordinates will take you across the river.
bridge is broken though.
still room for 2 parties on that side of the river
4 or 5 spots. More if you are friendly. Easy turnaround for big rigs. Fantastic view and quiet. Not bad at all for free!
Report Check-InNot far away from HWY but quite at night, some spots overlooking the river with fire rings.
No problem with bigger rigs before the bridge, did not try it behind the bridge.

Report Check-InWe liked this spot! beautiful vieuw and quiet. There were musquitos but not to bad.
Report Check-InAmazing place! Nice view of the river and mountains. Fire ring, two spots, second one suitable for a tent only. We've spotted a beaver there;) seems to be popular with locals so have a plan B if it is occupied.
Report Check-Inhey Manni (www.world-explorer.de) thanks for the coordinates ... , nice spot by the river
