Description

* No overnight parking.

There are many places for wild camping in area of Fifth Water Hot Spring. We encountered at least 5 or 6 nice sites for pitching a tent just along the river on the trail to the hot springs No overnight parking at the beginning of the trail).
We personally camped further down the Diamond Fork Rd. Just pass the Fifth Water Hot spring parking (with restroom), keep going 5 miles and pick a fine spot on the grassy lawn next to the river. They are beautiful.

Latest Check-Ins

Can't camp at the parkong for the springs overnight (lots of signs up saying no camping/day use only, till 10pm). Couldn't even park when I went as it was so full anyway. But stayed just down the road (at a paid site as it had 4G signal).

Saving to come back later. Will update when we do!

The hot springs are open again as of June 2021. There is no camping on Diamond Fork Rd. until you pass the sign that says ‘dispersed camping allowed’ a couple of miles past the trailhead. After that there are many sites along the river where you can park and camp, some large enough for big rigs. The road is paved. If you’re willing to backpack, there are campsites along the trail to the springs. The area is busy even during on weekdays; I recommend visiting the springs early morning or late evening to avoid the crowds. The springs are beautiful and extremely hot!

They closed the hotsprings because of cultural fear (covid). Signs threatening with high-fines and all that. Friends of a friend went anyway no problem. The campspots around are still available. Heard that at the hotsprings they do check sometimes ...

Road closed couple of km before the spot.

Plenty of primitive spots starting 12 miles down the road. Spots are relatively close to the road, so car noise is a little loud. Luckily, traffic isn’t typically too bad. Most spots have fire rings available and are close to the river. If you’re coming on a weekend, get here early as spots fill up quick. Most spots have room enough for small to medium trailers.

Yeah as said there’s a sign that says no wild camping for 12 miles. After 12 miles you’ll come across another sign saying it’s allowed. Quite a few spots to pull out on right along the river..a neat little place

If you want to sleep in your car go 1 to 2 miles further up the street. Overnight staying is forbidden only the first 12 miles of diamond fork road. After that you will see dispersed campsides with firerings between the street and the creek. Almost no traffic at night. Beautiful springs and hike.

Report Check-In

When we were there the road after the trailhead was closed, but arond 1km before the trailhead is a parking with toilet and a bridge to a nice camping area.

The hot springs are nice. To get there around 1h one way (4km, 300m high difference). Less people in the morning and evening.
