Description

Great place by the Cangrejal River. Only one leveled spot for a mid size rig if you're camping. $12 USD per vehicle per night. Cabins, rooms and a home available for rent. Great views, superb rafting, nice zip-line. Close access to hikes in Pico Bonito National Park. Very nice hang out / bar restaurant area with view of the river. Nice and refreshing river pools. Oscar, the owner, is very friendly and accommodating. We recommend rafting and canyoning with Juan Carlos. You can do canyoning only when water levels are down. We had an amazing time!!! Don't let the simple looks of this place be deceiving. It is a little gem and very affordable. Fast internet, nice showers and restrooms. Staff is also super nice. It is a beautiful place to stay and take rafting tours. The cost fir dorm room is still $20. To park the car, it's $15. The problem is that if you use the gated driveway, it's highly uneven. I did not stay. I am used to wildcamp or pay $5-7 a night. Instead, I went to Omega Tours up the road. They charged me $5.
The next day came back. I took the rafting tour from here. The sunset here is gorgeous.Tour price was $35/person. However. if you tell Mary she will line you up with another person. She is great lady.
Keep in mind tge door by the side of the strret is sliding door. Just slide it to get in if it's not locked.

Wanted $10 USD/pp when we asked about camping. There wasn’t any level parking inside the facility, so we would have had to park on the main road. We went to Balneario further north up the road for 100 Lmp/pp.

The place looks super nice though, and we may return for a coffee and to use the wifi 👍🏼

We did a raft trip here today. The water level is low but our guide Juan Carlos did a great job of showing us a good time with first doing some climbing up the large boulders and jumping in the water, floating down the river and then rafting down. It was class I to lll today. For the tour, we just parked on the side of the road in front of the place. Since we needed a place to park for the night ( it is extremely dusty on the road) and there are few options for our rig, Cathy the owner made some good suggestions for options further up the road. There are few parking spaces on this road and the lower sections toward La Ceiba she said weren't recommended. You can communicate with her on Whatsapp from their website to book tour ahead of time because you need at least 2 people, in multiples of 2.

I asked to camp here but they told me it wasn’t possible.

Stayed here 3 nights... sweet spot but like mentioned in previous posts only good for small rigs. We were only going to stay 1 night and ended up staying 3, we did the rafting trip so we got one day of accommodations for free (otherwise it's $10) The rafting trip was a blast so glad we did it. We opted for sleeping in the truck even though it was a little hard to find totally flat ground. The hostel has two pools built into the rocks that you can wade in and keep cool all day while drinking beers, and it has an awesome jump spot from the rocks into the river below. The food was delish and cheap... national park is close by with cool hikes to some waterfalls.

This is a great place but it's not really an RV spot. If you really want to camp carry on to the parking at the visitor centre. There really is no parking here and they prefer for you to take a bed - free if you take a tour. After breakfast and lunch/dinner this might be considered an expensive alternative option.

We wanted to camp here but we were two rigs so we stayed in La Ceiba and they picked us up. Paid $40pp for a canyoneering/rafting trip. was lots of fun and Juan Carlos was great. Hoped for Class IV rapids but not enough water. Did 6km raft. Dorms are free if you do a tour OR you can get a lovely two bedroom house (gorgeous) for $150USD.
